Pod X3 Live Direct Out and Clipping

I have a Pod X3 live and have it connected to KRK Rokit 5 monitors via Direct Outs using XLR's on the POD X3 Live.  The only problem is that the sound is lower than what it should be.  I know about and have tried changing the system outputs to control only the 1/4 outs which results in clipping from relatively low levels in volume.  Is there anything I'm missing here? I used to have a POD X3 bean and connected to KRK Rokit 5 Monitors via Live Outs using TRS cables.  I  was able to do this becuase the live outs on the bean are balanced and the ins on the monitors are balanced as well.  When connected this way the sound levels were great, no complaints.  However on the Pod X3 live only the direct outs are balanced and I cant connect via the live outs because they are unbalanced on the Pod x3 Live.  Any suggestions would be great!!

Thanks

The sound level from the balanced XLR Outputs on the X3L should be adequate. Are you sure your levels are set high enough in the X3L? Have you tried using headphones - they receive the same output signal as the XLR Outs. Crank up the Master Volume and the Tone Volume if necessary. If the headphones get really loud and the XLR output signal remains low then I think you might have a hardware problem with the XLR Out jacks.

I'm confused. In your first post I thought you were wanting to use the XLR Outs, but the level is too low. That's the question I responded to.

I thought the clipping is occurring with the 1/4" Live outputs? Are you now saying that you're getting clipping with the XLR outputs? In other words your XLR outputs are now too high (not too low)?
