HI !
When playing on the Astring on 12th fret and above similar frequiencies. the tone getts doubbled by lox frequency noise almost sounding like pich shifter effect. I haven't had this problem before but after uppgrading to you latest software i noticed it. I've tried to back to the previous software but that didn't help. Now i can't get rid of this noise. It seem like it mostly niticeable in the higain presets.
??!!??
are you sure you dont have a locked tone2?
theres a little lock icon on the display... twist the knob underneath til it opens and then switch patches...
if thats the issue...
Does this phenomenon only take place when you've selected a certain patch or tone?
If not, I would make sure there isn't something wrong with the instrument itself.
If there isn't anything wrong with the pickups or neck of your guitar (which there most likely isn't), I would update all the software for your X3 Live.
If that doesn't fix the problem, call Line 6 Support.
Good Luck!

the sound is most present on plexi preset or plexi variaced. There is no locked tone 2. I have also tried to rollback versions. then runing the guitar clean throu with no amp simulation on the sound is gone. There i also the wierd thing with the volume going upp if the usb is disconnected.
Any thoughts??
Do other guitars make this noise occur on the POD as well? Have you tried your guitar on another POD X3 at a store?
If re-installing the flash memory does not fix this noise that you are hearing, I would suggest that you take it to an authorized service center to take a look:

Hi again
both my guitars make this noise and with different pick-up configurations aswell. It's not present on all modells but for sure the plexi 45 and plexi variac'ed are the worst. Seems to me like the problem has to be software related since some presets work fine. Is there a way to maybe reset the unit other than just restor factory
presets. If the software or the memory are corrupt in some way,
What can the service center do ? I really would like to try as mutch as possible at home since a service center is pretty far.
I read i another tread that these sounds should be part of just accurate moddeling on Line 6 behalf. This i found unlikley since the "harmonics"/gost tones are present on both vox, plexi and fender presets., or???
Regards
Lasse
I would say there are several things I would try right off and a few things to note. The software in most to all cases is fine. The sound you are hearing is because of the "Tone" and Level of that setting. This will involve a few things to fix and would change your over all sound but probably for the better. This has happened to me. It involved "Hot lines" and Hot Pickups.
First if your line is running "HOT" you need to turn down that line noise. Hot lines make strange sounds in the digital world that you can only hear often with a good pedal or amp. You need to "Pad" the line. Or reduce the voltage. With many types of pickups this can happen to your tone. You may hear fuz when it pugged in. Its also improtant to use the correct cables. A guitar cable is not a cab cable! get a 12, or 14 g cable to that cab from the amp. Dont think it matters. "Wrong" when you turn it up, or add comp to that setup for the first time you will start to notice things. If both of your guitars are powered pickups you will want to start with this "PAd" idea and then move on to other checks.
Can you... "PAD" the Amp. On my Swr working pro 700 there is a "Pad" button. I hit the Db reducer next to the input. Dont have that? well, some have that on the out put for line noise, not that that whould help here.
Next Dont crank your vol level on your guitar. Turn it back a bit.
Look to make sure if its Live that Verb did not get bummped.
Hope that helps or gives you ideas!
happy jamming
