Is Riffworks the only program that sounds funny, or does the Gearbox standalone or any other media player program also sound funny as well.
Have you tried re-installing you Line 6 software/flash memory again to see if the problem gets resolved?

Yes, it is the only program that sounds funny. and I tried reinstalling everything but riffworks. I would try that but I lost my liscense code so I am trying to get that thru Sonoma wireworks where I bought the software.

If all other programs work, there must be something going on with the Riffworks program.
Re-install the software and follow Sonoma's suggestions.

Okay, so it's not the riffworks program. The metronome and song tracks on gearboxs sound the same as everything I play with the riffworks software. All this happened after I updated everything with the latest drivers thru the line 6 monkey.
I have guitar plugged into line 6 podxt live, podxt live into computer via usb port, and left and right output on podxt live going to individual studio monitors. I would like to know which version of monkey and gearbox I need to reinstall as well as the podxt lives drivers so it is like it was before. I have riffworks standard and not the line 6 version, I purchased this standard before I knew there was a line 6 version, is this my problem? Is it not compatable with Monkey and gearbox. It sounds like crap! it is dragging slow and distorted mechanical sounding. Please answer something that will help cause I really need to resolve this issue as I figure it isn't as complicated as it seems. Between you guys and sonoma wireworks, I have been going back and forth for about a week and a half, is there more info I need to give you?

It isn't the riffworks program, it does the same thing in gearbox on the metronome and guitarport stuff. It is a the latest driver I loaded in my pedal. Nothing is working right!
