POD X3 Live as stompbox in front of an Amp

Hello, i know that probably this argument is already discussed before, (for example here http://uk.line6.com/community/message/2546)
but i can't find a right answer to my question
I want to use my Pod X3 Live in front of a CLEAN channel of my Laney VC30 amp as a stompbox station (using all the effects but NOT the Amp simulations)
I would like to know if there are unity gain parameters to get a clean sound out of the pod when all is in OFF position
Assuming i want to create a "all bypass" kind of patch, to get the same sound i have when i put just Guitar->Amp i'm doing this:
All effects OFF,patch level =0, amp/line switch= amp, Output mode= combo front
now my question is : how to set "amp bypass volume" and "master volume" to get he same volume i get with just the guitar plugged into the amp input?
This is a very good question I would also be interested in seeing answered. So far, I can only suggest using an A/B box to alternate between the bypassed pod and the direct signal, and adjust the volumes either by ear or measurement so that they match...
yes, i know and i used a behringer AB200 to see what to do...
i noticed that with "byp vol" at 100% and master volume at 1 o' clock i have quite a similar volume responses, but i would like to have a better technical answer ...
Anyone?
It would very useful to have a reference for unity gain when bypassing the effects, just to use the PODX3L as a bunch of pedals together....
I have found the best repeatable combination to be setting the Master all the way up, then setting a bypass volume of 67%. Then I can easily use the tube preamp on occasion to get different drive, EQ settings, and/or volume settings.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
