Isolate Outputs on POD X3 Live?

Can you program individual patches on the X3 Live to send the signal out of either the xlr OR the 1/4 inch jacks? I want to send the acoustic patches from my Variax directly to the PA and all of my electric patches through the 1/4 inch to my Tech21 powered cabinet. Right now I'm splitting the signal using the LR Baggs Piezo on my strat directly to the PA and the electric pickups to the amp. I want to take advantage of the Variax variety of acoustic guitars in a live situation without having to send them through my amp or having to go direct with everything.
Yes you can.
In your output settings you can change the 1/4 output to mute and the XLRs to send their output panned as you wish. Then set the XLR (direct outs) to mute when you want just the 1/4" output.

Where you see Tone 1 with On above it (next to the pan settings), select that part of the screen and turn the knob under Tone 1 to switch it to Mute.
Use this on the 1/4" Live output settings and the XLR Direct settings to mute 1 while the other is left on and vice versa. Don't forget to save your settings.

It is possible to have dual outputs (at the same time) with the Pod X3 Live with this scenario:
That way I can have my amp for stage sound and give the sound guys the ability to get a direct option as well?
If so, how is this accomplished?
Crusty's first reply is perfectly clear; the second one a little less so for me.
Assuming you want the capability to have both acoustic and electric patches dual tone: The 1/4" OUTPUTs switch for STUDIO or LIVE modes is a global switch. Set it to LIVE and select COMBO or STACK, etc.
Acoustic patches:
STUDIO/DIRECT MIX: Set one or both tones ON and PAN as desired (center if it's mono)
LIVE OUTS (1/4"): MUTE both tones.
Electric patches:
STUDIO/DIRECT MIX: MUTE both tones.
LIVE OUTS (1/4"): Set one or both tones ON and PAN as desired (center if it's mono)
If you use STUDIO modes for the 1/4" (a few people do), then you have to put acoustic patches in tone1 only, and electric patches in tone2 only.
For acoustic patches set the INPUT to be VARIAX for tone1 and tone2 to AUX (which has nothing plugged in).
For electric patches set the INPUT to be VARIAX for tone2 and tone1 to AUX.
Set the STUDIO/DIRECT/MIX to tone1, set the 1/4" MODE to STUDIO and select STUDIO/DIRECT TONE2.
Thanks guys! This is a deal closer for me if the unit itself will hold up. I currently use the XT Live at gigs and it does a good job and is very durable but doesn't allow the output flexibility with the Variax. I've been reading a LOT of complaints about the X3's cheaper design. Are you using yours live and how are they holding up?
I can't say personally, but I think it was geeker who made a post today that he's used his in 200 gigs, dropped it a couple of times, and wears size 12 steel-toed boots on stage.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
