IS POD X3 Right for me?

I currently own two POD XT Beans, BASS POD XT and POD XT, I purchased the gold buntle for POD XT and tried to make dual tones with PODFARM Plugin,

but that never worked.  I know POD XT is not capable of DUAL TONE on its own, and GEARBOX doesnt do dual tone either,

My question is.  Can a POD X3 LIVE  record direct dual tones via USB?

If you purchase POD X3 what software can you use to create dual tones? do you have to use Line 6 Edit? cause gearbox doesnt do dual.

I am assuming you can make dual patches in Line6 Edit as it is used for the Vetta II. "am i wrong?"

Also, which PODFARM is included with the purchase, I had no luck with PODFARM plugin cause it has never worked for me.

It never saw any of my amps on the POD XT Bean. Never figured out why, couldnt get NUENDO to see it. POD Farm was just too frustrating for me.

what i really need to do is be able to record dual tones as well as make/save patches that are dual tone.

My other guitar player uses Vetta II and only uses the direct outs,So the X3 direct looks a lot like the Vetta II only cheaper cause it's only the preamp stuff.

In Theory going through the house PA, i should be able to get close to his dual tones.

I love line 6 products and have my signature dual tones written down on paper. I just want an easy way to save them or load them to the X3 or Vetta II

Any advice / help in this matter would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Phantom.

you get 8 outputs to record over usb with the x3

    1/2 = tone1 stereo

    3/4= tone2 stereo

    5/6= tone1+tone2 stereo

    7/8 = tone1 and tone2 dry

if you buy a new one you get pod farm 2 for free... (probably PF1 too???)

edit does not work with the x3... you would use gearbox (free)

the plugins can take a little effort to setup depending on your recording software...

    I completly agree with Zap.

Also you appear to be under the impression that Gearbox wont allow dual tones. Gear box will give you access to whatever your hardware can deal with. So for the X3L it gives you access to dual tones. See the attached screenshot.

no, to my knowledge (someone correct me if i'm wrong) the vetta has more advanced effects routing features and is not compatible with the same tones as the x3/xt

as long as the tones aren't dual tones... you can share tones between the x3/xt though. (not sure that helps you any though)

Gearbox does do dual tones.  It just depends on what you have connected at the time.  With the XT, in does not.  With the X3, it does.
