My New Les Paul...almost

Schecter Solo-6 Custom. Coming my way hopefully before the weekend. Kicks any LP's ***. For 1/3 of the price. Ordered this after an aborted attempt at a Fender Deluxe Player's Strat, which was complete garbage. Saw this guitar online and just instantly fell in love. The vid is of its predecessor, the Classic, which is the same guitar but with jumbo frets. Very flexible tone-wise with the coil tapping. And great stock pickups! This is how Gibson should build the LP for modern times. The only thing I'm going to change about it will be straplocks.
Hey man, I really dig that guitar. I've been wanting a LP but not a Gibson, so I've been looking at alternatives. I like how versitile it is w/the coil taps and longer scale length. I'm playing in a country cover and now and looking for a guitar to use. I want no part of a Tele and I picked a used Squire Strat to get me by until I figure it out, but it sucks so bad that I'm playing my Explorer and Flying V. Country is different than it used to be, I want single coil sounds, but I have to have a humbucker too. I'm thinking about holding out for the Variax 2 LP. But this is a really sweet guitar, good luck with it.
Nice axe! Reminds me of the Neal Schon LP model, how much are they running?

$699. A complete STEAL for what this axe has to offer.
Even though I don't have a case to fit the guitar, yet, I took it to church this morning wrapped up in a fluffy blanket on my back seat. Church is within walking distance in a private development, so not much worries about traffic.
Plugged it into my Mesa rig and it was just great. One of our other guitar/bass players who had the week off said that out in the congregation, it definitely had more "bark", cut through the mix better, and was even more pleasing on the high end than my C-1 Classic. Together with my amp and pedal settings, I had a great vintage Marshall roar going on that was overdriven but very articulate. I know, from a Mesa!
I attribute most of this difference to the Duncan Custom Custom (SH-11) in the bridge. The C-1 Classic has a Duncan Distortion bridge pickup which I put in that sounds good in its own right, but now I'm thinking of swapping that out for the Custom Custom too. It's a great pickup for bright sounding guitars, which the Classic can be. SH-11 is Alnico-II and overwound to be hotter, just slightly less than a JB.
So I'm really loving this guitar in a way that I didn't think was possible for me to love an LP style axe. Case should arrive sometime this week. Had to order the Schecter Solo-6 case because normal LP style cases apparently don't fit it. And neither do any of my other generic hard cases.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
