Nice F3 Fullstack, Dave. Wharehouse Speakers, huh?
Wow - thought you guys had moved to Neptune or somewhere.
Nice to see y'all back for a bit!
Still got my F3XL, but moved on to the AxeFX Ultra - using the F3 in "power amp only" mode as an FRFR stage mon.
It's good to see some familiar names still on the boards. It's been a while for me. Got kind of fed up with it but over it now. I use the yellow Flex3 stack with the country band. For the rock band I use a PODx3 bean into a Peavey 50/50 tube power amp and an emerald green stereo 4x12 cab. I just got a Blackstar Stage 60 and really like it. It may supplant the PODx3 bean and Peavey 50/50 after I've had a chance to purchase a few more FX.
How's the AxeFX? I've read about them but never heard one. IS it light years ahead of the POD stuff?
Dave
Yeah, I saw they posted this on my thread from way back when, when we didnt have a forum. Wish they would have just done it out the gate. Oh well.

Dave,
It took me about 18 months of listening and lurking on their forum to decide (and collect the $$ as they AIN'T cheap) before I pulled the trigger on the AxeFx.
Quite honestly, I should have taken out a 2nd mortgage on day ONE to buy it!
The hype is all TRUE !! It's the most awesome modeller out there.
The reason it took me so long to decide was -
A. I could still gig with the Flex
B. I could not find anything negative about the Axe. Not on the Fractal forum, not on the Gear Page, not anywhere. This gave me cause for concern as there ALWAYS something about ANY product that has it's idiosyncracies.
I bought the Ultra back in June and have not played anything else since. Use it direct to FOH and send 2nd outputs into EFFECTS RETURN of the F3XL for stage monitoring. I hold down the "A" button when powering up the F3 (puts it in power amp only mode, so only Master vol knob works), put a dummy 1/4 jack into the imput and off I go.
If you can find anyone local to you that has one - there's a google maps thing out there that has lots of owners listed - go try it.
Most people who have one will be happy to let you come over and play with it. The amp models are awesome, so is playability. That is the one thing I REALLY love about the Axe - I can turn down the GTR volume on a patch and get nice clean sound, then turn UP gtr volume to get some crunch. It reacts to pick dynamics, and the built-in effects are SPECTACULAR. An amp model, a cab and simple reverb (no delay, chorus, PEQ or anything can sound incredibly good.
I plugged in my VG99 last night (first time in months) and played it awhile. I still really like the COSM guitar models (strat, paul, acoustic, bass, etc), but the whole thing sounded so DIGITAL when A/B'd alongside the Axe.
I could go on and on, but I suggested you check out their web site and forums for yourself.
Of course, YMMV ![]()
Sounds awesome, and i checked some reviews and stuff... yeah, gotta have it!! but SCREEEEEEECHHHHHH - $2,000!!! wowie. maybe someday.
Good to see you back on here!
LOL - like I said "NOT CHEAP".
One reason why it took me so long to take the plunge.
Heck, by the time you add up a VG99, FC300 and a GK3 - it's in the $1700 range, so what's and extra couple hundred ???
I'm using my FC300 pedalboard with it, and that works pretty well. Lot of programming, but like I siad works well.
Honestly, I think the unit would be great at TWICE the price - but that might have prioced me out of the market!
The AxeFX sounds awesome. I'm thinking more retro these days. A good tube amp and a few FX. Just don't have the time to work on tones and do programming anymore. 2 bands and the speaker cab thing keep me extremely busy. The country band is doing really well. Never thought I would play country but I'm having a blast. I do throw out some rock occasionally. I've ended the last set of the night with rocking renditions of Voodoo Chile, All Along the Watchtower, and LaGrange...whatever I'm in the mood for. Goes over really well in a bar but not so much in the animal clubs. I think they just throw me a bone to keep me happy. I attached a couple tunes from the country band. I played lead and used the FlxIII with 1 2x12 cab with Warehouse Speakers V30 and ET65. We've haven't done any recording with the alt rock band yet. We have a female lead and do some Evanescence and Flyleaf. It's great to talk to you guys again! I miss the old boards every now and then.
Dave
Good stuff. Funny, when i heard that first track, i thought, "man they should do Allman Bros!" lol. Great tones, Dave, nice riffage, too!
Its been almost two weeks of not being in a band, had a scheduled gig for this coming sunday. i miss it already. guess im gonna tighten up the studio, lay some tracks and maybe try to get my chops sounding better.

Nice tones Dave !!
Really helps having that "country" voice to front it too ![]()
I really like the Warehouse speakers. They sound really good and the price is right. Plus they age very nicely. My cabs have their V30 equivalant and ET65 equivalant speakers in them. One of each in each cab. I also have a 4x12 cab I built that has their G12-H30 equivalant's in it...really nice. They are really nive to talk to if you have questions. No big corporation mentality. Goodsell also uses their speakers for their boutique amps. Along with my many other projects I've also been building cabs for local musicians. A lot of 2x12 but some 1x12 and 4x12. I've put Warehouse speakers in all and the users are totally satisfied.
