Oh, I can play like that some nights. In fact, just last I was playing at least that wel -- right after the part of the dream where the rabbit stoped speaking Russian and I'd been given backstage passes to the AC/DC concert. ![]()
Seriously, though - awesome tour of the HD, and the playing is just out of this world good. Great work, Glenn!!!
Cheers,
Fester2k
great stuff as usual.
Glenn, will you be posting your HD500 patches?
You can have a crack at creating them from the info in the video clip if you want. I did that this afternoon for the fun of it and the patches sound OK.
Nick
I don't want to sound negative but I want to be honest and it sounds like the fizz is back big time in the song he played in the video and to be honest the wahwah solo is really fading in and out badly as others and sounds invisible in the mix although we can hear it but there is something weird going on for sure.
Youtube mucks with the sound for sure but this demo gave me second thoughts on just sticking with my x3 live.
Glenn, great job as usual. Fantastic stuff!

Great video Glenn! I know you like editing from the actual unit but how much of what you demo'ed can you actually do via the software in terms of building a patch and assigning controllers?

All of it. I did exactly that whilst watching Glenn's clip yesterday.

As usual, Fan-Friggin'-Tastic!! Thanks (once again) Glenn.
Thanks for all of the positive feedback guys. Yes I will be making my patches avialable to you all. In reference to some of the questions here: As far as editng with the software it's 100 times easier than doing it from the unit like i do in the video. As far as the fizz being back, sorry but I just don't hear it in my studio like I did with the X3. All that fizz talk from the earlier units made lots of people think that they needed to remove the very high end sounds from these models but then people complained that it sounded like there was a blanket over the sound. Going back to my old recordings that is exactly what it sounds like to me now, No life, no openness. . . I have to say I don't get that with these new models. It is worth mentioning that I did not use any EQ at all on these tones (other than the amp EQ controls).
Glenn
The software is great but at the same time it's important to learn to tweak directly from the unit since you never know when you may need to adjust something on the fly at a gig. Your video condensed that down from the PDF version very nicely - much easier to "watch and do" rather than read and do.

+1 on both counts. There is no fizz.
And the amp models do not need any post EQ. You can't say that about any other modeler out there. The XT/X3 needs EQ, the GT-10 models also do. And the Axe-Fx models? Yep. They need it too. The HD is the first amp modeler I've used where you can get your sound purely from amp/cab/mic and the tone stack.
Thank you Glenn. Much appreciated ![]()

Glenn, thank you SO much! Can't wait to try these out this afternoon!
Great vid, i just love Glenn's vids on the POD's.
You gotta admit that theres enough deep edits in this box to sometimes make it a little confusing but Glenn does a great job in showing us just how it is done...
Love it. Keep 'em coming Glenn.
Man he makes getting around that HD500 look so easy! Seems like everthing I try to do is a struggle.
Your the man Glenn!
Dan
Great ! I was disappointed that he had a HD400, but now hopefully I will be downloading directly his HD500 patches !
