thanks for that suggestion. I installed the latest driver and my sound problems significantly got better although unfortunately they didn't disappear completely.

In the meantime I updtated my usb-drivers but that didn't help. I still have some clickings and scratches from time to time. Is there anything else that I may try out?

My UX2 is directly connected to an usb-port, no hub is used.

Until now I actually tried only one usb-port. I will check that out this evening.

Also sometimes reaper crashes while loading the podfarm-VST and after restarting the program reaper gives out an error message just like 'problems with your sound card'. Then I cannot assign inputs and outputs although the ASIO UX driver is displayed. Then I have to re-install the UX-driver, plug out, plug in the UX2 and restart reaper.

But my main problem is nevertheless the clicking and grinding.

in fact I have installed an usb-filter-driver because of problems with my old usb-printer.

Do you suggest to uninstall it?

If the power supply of my usb-port is insufficient what can I do against that?

I checked both the optimization guidelines and the altered buffer size - no improvements.

I also switched off the wireless adapter, but that did not change anything...

Any other suggestions?

Hi folks,

finally I got it! The key to an (almost) undistorted sound has been an USB-hub with external power supply. It seems that my USB-ports don't have enough power to supply the UX2 sufficiently.
