HD500 / DT50 Setlist (ALL PRE)

For anyone who's interested, here's a blanket setlist created for the DT50 and HD500 that tests each amp model. This was created with the help of NickMattocks and bbenham. I just took thier lists and tweaked them to be a "cleaner" starting block. So thanks guys...
Each patch uses ONLY PRE amp models
Each patch includes NO EFFECTS.
Each patch includes NO Cab sims.
Each patch is volume normalized to the setlist, and a clean guitar signal(no amp)
Setlist includes four patches from each modeled amp. Each amp has a patch 1-4, with 1 being the cleanest drive (0%), 2 (33%), 3 (66%), and 4 at 100%. All patch volume levels were normalized using a meter in the room(to the best I could do). If the amps cleanest setting did not produce enough volume to normalize via "channel volume", then the volume was raised in the mixer. If the mixer still wasn't enough to bring volume up, then drive was increased just enough to normalize for the #1 patch.
Hope this is helpful...
EDIT:
Forgot to mention... All panning in the mixer is set to "Center" as well.
Thanks much. I was too lazy to go back and do all that. ![]()
No problem.. You guys helped me enough already.. Thought I'd contribute ![]()
Nice one Les. Thanks for the work.
David.
That is a great tool. What a cool starting point for building tones. Thank you!
So I have to ask... are you blind from reading the little numbers yet? ![]()
LMAO! yeah a little blind. Wish they were bigger for sure! It's funny, because I was just scanning through the list again, and I think theres a patch or two that should have been 0% and it's like 1 or 2% by mistake. Oh well... Between this and an iphone, my eyes are killing me. lol
Thanks so much. I got my HD500 yesterday and this is the first thing I downloaded after updating the unit. This is definitely the place to start to create your tones.
Thanks! This will be helpful- I'm gonna load it into my HD500 as DT50 Default and use it to augment the patches I've already got.
So I'm wondering... what is the advantage of doing all these on PRE instead of the other? I just got the HD500 yesterday and am still learning. If I read it correctly, PRE is NOT simulated while the other is? I still don't quite understand that. So, if these patches are meant to be used on a PA, wouldn't they need to be the other instead of PRE. I'm sorry if this sounds dumb. I upgraded from the X3 Live and didn't have to worry about this stuff before.
after reading some other posts, it seems the PRE settings are for going to the DT50 from the HD500. If you're going to a PA system, you should use the other. Just wanted to clarify for others as curious as myself. Also, great link for the centering idea! I'll be trying that as well!
What's the purpose for centering all of the patches?
Also, you wouldn't have any sort of listing of where the channel volumes are for each of the patches in order to normalize them, would you? If that was available I'd like to use it to adjust the other 16x4 setlist because those are definitely not normalized, but for me they are more useful as starting points since they have some basic fx already inserted.
Thanks.
About the centering, see this thread:

Sorry, I don't have any listing for you.
I've taken your setlist and copied every setting, but NOT as PRE amps. I've also included the respective cab. So in essence, this thread has ALL PRE normalized and ALL others normalized, with your settings of course.
Here is my earlier 16 x 4 FULL amps set list with basic FX designed just using mainly default amp settings - clean (ish) to solo in each amp bank - this is really to get you started and for use when going direct to FOH PA
Nick
Very helpful Nick. Thanks for the list. This is Nick's list, but centered, for all of us playing through a mono venue (most churches). Just saving everyone some time

Hi Nick,
Just to clarify - this is the same set list you previously posted where the amp to amp volume levels were NOT normalized?
Thanks,
Chris
It is the same list, where the levels had been (very) roughly normalised within banks but 'normalising' if I even dare call it that was done simply by ear and is based on the 'normal' defaults of each amp model and not a lot more. So anyone who uses this set list needs to be aware that there might be a difference in levels between banks. Patch D in every bank will be louder than A, B or C as that patch in each bank has been given more level for solo.
Nick
Thanks Nick.
Does anyone have an opinion as to which amp model is the lowest in terms of output volume? If I had some time I might take a stab at tweaking Nick's list to normalize the banks.

Ok, 1 vote for AC30. Anyone else???
Guys, all of this is invaluable.
Thanks for taking the time to do this!
Just wanted to say kudos for peoples respective work on this. I have been azy in using
a large number of amps for song settings, I see using a much wider variety in my original
recordings from now on.
thanks
