Variax 600 and POD XT Live compatability?

I have just bought a Variax 600 to connect to my POD XT Live but there is a problem. In edit mode on the variax screen of the POD XT it shows that there is a Variax 300/600 connected but the Variax control is turned off and there is no option available to turn it on, as shown in the manual. I want to be able to select the guitar models via the POD and store them with the POD patches. Is the the Variax 600 compatible with this?

    You can do this using Line6 Edit, which you can download from this site. If you are new to this equipment (V600 and XTLive) may I suggest you refresh all the firmware and download all the latest software you will need (Line6Monkey, Variax Workbench, and Line6 Edit). There are decent user instructions for all of the programs mentioned.

     

    This requires that you connect your XTLive to your computer by means of the supplied USB cable (standard+mini connectors).
