Lithium-Ion Batteries?

Hi,

 

Can I use Lithium-Ion batteries in my XDV70L beltpacks? For instance the Ultrafire Lithium-Ion Battery type 18650. 3,7 Volt/2400 mAh.

    I would guess "no" to using the type 18650 Li battery ... because the AA-size batteries are nominally 1.5v (alkaline) or 1.2v (rechargeable NiMH or "eneloop"-type), whereas the 18650 Li batteries are >3.5v each (even if the external dimensions happen to be the same as the AA-size).

     

    Furthermore (as I just was reading a bit more on these...), the 18650 Li are typically NOT designed to be used in "battery packs" (e.g.: 2 or more at a time).
