POD Studio UX2 Newb here.

I'm hoping this is the right group for this.  Seems metally.  Anyway, I'm all rigged to be able to make music in my apartment with headphones.  the problem is I don't really know what the hell I am doing, but I have heard examples of other artists using the same gear and I hope to one day get a decent sound and be able to record into Fruity Loops to my programmed drum tracks.  Right now I am just trying to find a good tone for my 7 string.  I've experimented with the numerous amps on the Metal Shop patch for Pod Farm and seem to have zeroed in on the Soldano type.  I started with everything neutral and made slight tweaks here and there to get maximum fuzz without muddying up.  Then I tried a few effects in an attempt to enhance what I had.  The Flanger seems to make a difference, but i can't figure out how to cut it anymore.  I have too much reverb and would like to figure out how to cut that down as well so the effects take a back seat to the main tone.  I would accept any and all advice from anyone who knows how to get the tone just right so it stops on a dime when palm muted but sounds bright and room filling when open.  Here is a link to what I have so far.  G# standard.  This isn't a song, just a tone check.  Thanks for anyone who pays this post any attention.
