Alternative EQ functions for an X3 Live.

I've been having a hard time getting a decent sound out of my X3 Live's parametric EQ. I had wondered for years now why was not able to change the effected bandwidth on the mid frequencies. Last night, I found that Line 6 simply didn't include the option and instead gave it a "Variable Q." Which basically means it narrows the bandwidth as you increase or cut the gain and you're going to like it because you haven't a choice not to. Now cutting all my losses and countless hours wasted fighting with it, I'm looking for alternative solutions. I've been told several times, and by several people that an 8-band graphic EQ available for the X3, but I've failed to find anything about it both here and from what I've seen on the rest of the internet. Anyone know if this addon really exists, or have I been sent on a wild goose chase?

I've the X3L for some years and I prefer it even to the new HD500, it seems strange that you can not find a stamp that you like.
With what you use it? Have you tried to set the parameters using the headset? For example if you use it with a PA or a chest monitor the sounds are different and better use with a guitar amp (which is the incorrect use).

I have not heard about an EQ 'Add-on' for the X3.

I have heard several people talking about adding an external multi-band EQ unit after the X3.  I do this and use a very cheap and simple Behringer FBQ800.  I tweak my tones as close as possible using good headphones and PA/amp at home, then use the external EQ box to adjust my tone to each venue.

    Hope that this helps?
