Nomination for the most afflicted on this board

I'd probably have to nominate myself for that honor. Long story short, I have sold all of my amps, effects, and modelers and invested in an Axe-Fx rig. Right now, it's running into a QSC power amp which is driving my 412, and I like how that sounds. But I may look into a couple of PA cabinets instead because I really want to use the Axe's cab models. They are THAT good. I control the unit with a Ground Control Pro with two Mission EP-1 expression pedals. Nice, compact rig. Easy setup. Awesome tone.
I will be writing a comprehensive review soon, probably after investigating the PA cabinet option. I plan to make this a truly all-encompassing review by incorporating my thoughts about all the other modelers and amps that I've gone through on my journey to date, so you'll understand my thinking on this. The one BIG thing I've learned in the whole process is that GREAT tone can be found just about anywhere, with just about any piece of quality gear.
More to come soon.
man I wish I had been through as many women as you've had guitar amps. I'd officially be a womanizer
lol
anyway good skills on getting a great rig. i think with the review we're going to have to demand (lol) a video! with some direct recordings from the AXE!
You've got my vote!
So I picked up a pair of EV 15" PA speakers to use instead of my 412. HUGE improvement, even over what was already sounding good. Now I have the Axe cab models at my disposal, and I've found a couple of ones that I really like, but will probably stick with just one, the JCM2000 cab, for the sake of having a slightly more consistant sound across gain levels. More like having a multichannel amp and not bouncing around tone-wise too much. The Axe cab models seem to complete the equation. I have really nice bounce and feel. Feels like a tube amp. I was able to duplicate the crunch channel from my TSL, and I really can't tell the difference unless I'm actually looking at the unit and know it isn't a Marshall. Found some really nice high gain rhythm using the CAE 3+ Lead model, and the recto is a recto. I still have some work to do in making custom cables for my expression pedals, but I should have that done today.
My Avatar 412 is going on Craigslist. I have no need for it anymore. My on stage sound is now the exact same thing coming from the FOH.
"when i grow up i wanna be you!!!" LOL that's one serious rig i really wish to have soon!!! (saving up for that one.)
Stay in the mix and in the know.
