Not me!  I'm getting my FOURTH JTV tomorrow.  The first three all went back for various defects.

I waited two days. I saw GC had some black 59s in, and I two day shipped it with 15% off during the 4th of july sale.  Mine is still going on strong, but it's only been one gig, but a lot of bedroom play.

I ordered my JTV59 CSB end of Sept 2010 and received a JTV59 BLK instead on June 28, 2011 - so my wait was 9 months and I didn't end up with my original order. My dealer still had no ETA when the CSB would appear but happened to have received an unallocated BLK one which he offered to me instead, so I decided to accept it rather than wait even longer.

I ordered my JTV 69 Black 11 months ago in August. I was lucky to score a demo unit flown in for a trade show (I am in Australia) but my original order is still to be filled. News here is it could be October.

Re: Please Post Your JTV Arrival Here

Well, It's been a while and guys.....I'm out. Received the guitar back from Line 6 and they fixed the modeling switching issue. The guitar worked fine for a few weeks, I was really starting to settle in with it and bingo..... the A-string piezo went out, I must have received a lemon or something..It's too bad I really liked the guitar and was getting used to it. I loved the pickups. I would have kept the guitar and never used the modeling except for the fact that I paid $1299 for the guitar. I have to say Sweetwater has stood behind the guitar and gave me ample time to test it out but after the piezo went out it's just to much to put up with for that kind of money. I'll wait for the kinks to be worked out in the next version or until they get a rack mount variax system that will plug into any guitar like the rax vax. It really sucks! I was just starting to play some slide too! It went back to Sweetwater today, looking at the Corgan Strat to replace it...Good Luck to all!!

Re: Please Post Your JTV Arrival Here

I would have received mine this week (JTV69US Gold).  The good people at Sweetwater left a message for me to let me know that it had arrived, and that's I'd probably get it midweek.  However, after they inspected it, the Variax parts of the guitar (the modeling electronics) apparently weren't working correctly.  I called back and left a message and asked that they just do their Sweetwater thang with the guitar.  If that means sending it to Line 6, so be it.  I'll just wait for it to arrive in good working order.  Still can't wait to get my mitts on it!  Sweetwater rocks.

Re: Please Post Your JTV Arrival Here

Another bale out sadly......I took my JTV59 TSB (Korean) back to GuitarGuitar in Edinburgh on Saturday and they were their usual extremely helpful selves. After giving it a lot of thought the previous night I'd come round to the idea that maybe being an early adopter of the JTV wasn't such a bright idea at this point in time and, as much as I love everything this technology has to offer, it might make more sense to look at other options and come back to the JTV (or whatever comes along after it) in a couple of years when all the problems they've been having with this line have been sorted out and put to bed

An evening of trawling through GuitarGuitar's website on Friday night and a call to the manager, Chris, on Saturday morning produced an outcome I'm perfectly happy with.  The decision to bale out on the JTV wasn't an easy one and I still hope I'll have one in the future but, for now, I've gone with letting them send the JTV59 back to Line 6 as faulty (their first repair didn't work and didn't want to wait in trepidation for it coming back again - or worrying continually that it would develop problems in future even if attempt 2 at repairing it worked.

In it's place I've gone for the PRS SE Mikael Akerfeldt signature model

    PRS SE Mikael Akerfeldt.jpg

AND, by also trading in my old Ibanez SA260FM to add onto the original £899 I paid (before Christmas 2010 - the price has since gone up to £1099 in the UK) for the JTV I was able to add another Spider IV 75 and FBV Shortboard to my collection (the ones I originally bought a couple of years ago have been commandeered by my teenage son and I never really took to the Vox VT40+ I got to replace the Spider).

AND......I've just realised that a bonus for doing all this is that I won't be spending anywhere near as much time on this particular forum as I no longer have a JTV to worry over.  I'll just be checking in with the Spider IV forums from time time.

Anyway, good luck to all of you who are waiting patiently for your JTVs and those who already have them.  Hope they all behave themselves as they should and not be as problematic as the multitude already moaned about on here!

If anyone is interested I am selling my new JTV-69 Placid Blue as I just like the JTV-59 I just got back from Line 6 repair better.   I do not want or can afford to keep both. If anyone on the forum is interested PM me. The JTV-69 is brand new with all the plastic still on it from Sweetwater with all included accessories. There are no issues. I realize many may be still waiting for a JTV-69, I waited 10 months for this one and almost 11 months for the JTV-59 CSB.  Figured I would give the forum a shot at this before I put it on eBay or something.

JTV Model Received:  59 Tobacco SB (Korean)

    Order Date:  December 16, 2010

    Received Date:  August 12, 2011

    City/Country:  Cypress, Tx / US

    Retailer:  Sweetwater

I am not good at writing reviews but I will at least say that the guitar is very nice.  I have experienced only one minor glitch so far and this was in the first hour or two of playing.  The model knob must have gotten stuck between the pickups and modeling selection and was causing the guitar to freak out.  After playing with all the knobs (because I didn't know at the time what the cause was) it stopped and has been fine ever since.  I received the guitar last Friday and played a gig with it the next night.  I did not use any other guitars that night and had no problems whatsoever and I, and my bandmates, thought it sounded excellent.

The fit and finish is excellent as well.  The neck feels virtually identical to my Gibson LP Standard with the rounded '59 profile.  I did have to adjust the intonation and lower string height just a tad.  One minor gripe is that after playing for only a short time, my fingers turned black!  I put new strings on and still my fingers turned black.  Must have been something on the fingerboard.  It has almost cleared up now but, wow, that was weird.

I was able to use the alt tunings and could play songs without a capo while the other guitarist still had to use his!  He got a good laugh when he looked over and saw I wasn't capo'd.  I agree with another poster that with the acoustic models, you still get the warbling sound if you virtual capo up more than 2 frets.  Even at 2 frets it still has a slight warbling quality to the sound.

That's my two cents.  I plan to make this my main axe and take only it to gigs.

Re: Please Post Your JTV Arrival Here

I originally noticed the warbling when using the virtual capo above the 2nd fret. It completely cleared up when I installed the latest firmware. I understand the latest to be 1.70. Give that a shot and see if it helps. Good luck.

Re: Please Post Your JTV Arrival Here

Geeman, just so you know, what you are desribing could well be the JTV59 switch issue. When it happens, the JTV59 starts to either not switch at all, or randomly switch between different models. It may have disappered for now, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again. I'd watch out for it, and be ready to get the switch repaired under warranty.
