UX8 - Glitches, artifacts, click and pops

Hello!

 

I recently bought the Toneport UX8 and was really excited about all the features and the included software. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get it to work.

 

The sound that comes out is always "glitchy" (that's the best I can describe it). I'm attaching an mp3 of some audio I recorded using the UX8 that demonstrates the problem. It has made this sound both in GearBox and in Logic Pro 9. The audio sample was recorded in Logic and is clean (no plug-ins or processing).

 

It also makes this continuous glitch sound when I use the UX8 just to listen to songs in iTunes.

 

Here's information about my system:

 

Computer: Mid-2009 13" MacBook Pro

OS: 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)

Line 6 Driver: 7.0.9 — I also tried 4.6.8 but it didn't make a difference

 

I'm not using a USB hub. I have the Line 6 Audio/MIDI buffer set to "Extra Large" and Logic's buffer set to 1024 ms.

    Hey georgewkemper,

       

      Have you also tried using different buffer size and sampling rate combination to see if it "glitches" change at all?

       

      Please try removing any additional unnecessary USB and firmware devices from your computer when troubleshooting this issue. Make sure to connect it directly to a USB port and not a USB hub, extension, or keyboard of any kind, preferably connect it to a USB port on the rear of computer. Try testing it using additional USB cables and every USB port available.

       

      In addition make sure that you run the latest MAC OSX drivers:

       

      MAC Drivers : 7.0.9

      If you receive the same stutter on each USB port, then I would suggest trying it on another computer so that we can try and establish if the problem lies with your original computer or possibly the hardware on the Tone Port UX8.

       

      Be sure to install the drivers for the particular operating system prior to testing it on the second computer.
