When i start my pod HD 400 it says "dsp boot failed"... I installed an update via line 6 monkey driver, when I was done i tried to get the sound working and it said " dsp boot failed " on the screen on my pod HD 400. Please help...!
Have you tried setting it back to factory-defaults?
No I have not. how do i reset it to factory-defaults?
Here's a link to a video on how to do it. http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2043
Ok, done and done
Next problem:
Calibrating the expression pedal.
"press and hold the toe switch".
I hold the pedal but nothing happens. I have seen the tutorial vid for it. But it's not working for me! ![]()
Ok! I got it to work. I just had to use abit more force!
but it tells me the same thing again when im done calibrating the pedal. "DSP boot failed" >_>
it really works for you?..because when i had the same problem I had to downloaded the flash memory and update from file in Line 6 Monkey
Yep, i worked to calibrate the pedal, but it didn't help me in the end anyhow.. Still got the "dsp boot failed" popup on the pod which sux big time. Im starting to think that it's broken or something. I have tried everything that i can think of.. <.<

Which includes re-flashing the firmware??
It would seem to me that when you last updated the firmware, that the process did not complete successfully for some reason and that until your HD400 has a complete firmware installation loaded, it will continue to display the problem you are experiencing.
Resetting to factory defaults (or a Factory Restore as it's called in the manual - i.e. holding down foot switch A whilst you power the unit on) on the POD HD400 is a different process to re-flashing the firmware. I just want to be clear on exactly what you have done.
If the firmware update process is not working correctly, it might be computer related. If you can, try a different computer, different USB cable, different (preferably rear panel) USB 2.0 port, and absolutely NO generic USB hub in the chain.

It's working now. http://line6.com/support/message/315473#315473 This guy had the same problem as me, thanks!
I have the same problem. PODHD400 simply won't start up. it says "DSP boot failed" so i took your advice and tried plugging it in to the rear usb port in my pc, but when i try to reinstall the firmware/update the flash memory again, it wont let me because my computer says it is not connected. It's kind of hard to explain so i"ll do my best. My computer recognizes that something has been plugged into the usb port but when i look at Line 6 Monkey, it tells me that my PODHD400 is not connected, therefore i cannot reinstall anything or update anything. Originally it said there was an error in the installation and i was instructed to power off then power on my POD. Immediately after following these instructions, it just displayed the "DSP boot failed" message then went blank. I'm 99% sure this is the reason it is malfunctioning. Sorry if im sounding redundant, i just want to eliminate any possibilities f misunderstanding and/or misinterpritation. I'm scared... I love my PODHD400, and i would hate to lose it. Please help me...please...![]()
you gotta start a new thread, man. and be sure to mark it as a queston. you should delete this post.![]()
Agreed ... should be a new thread. As a one-shotter though: do you have access to another PC? Try updating it on that.
