    Re: cant install pod x3

Firstly are you running on Windows 7? In the other similar posts, they said that the Pod X3 has not windows 7 compatible drivers.

Also, have you downloaded Moneky? You can download it here http://line6.com/software/index.html?name=Line+6+Monkey&submit_form=set&submit_query=Show%3A

it should be under downloads in the tabs above

Use monkey to install the drivers, just follow the steps

Reply if it still doesnt work, I dont remember having any problems installing, I just followed what was on the screen, good luck!

Please tell us exactly what you are doing - what steps you are taking - to try to get your x3 live ' installed'. At what point is it not behaving as expected?

Try disconnecting your Pod from the computer, then launch  Monkey. Select the Pod X3 Live as the device. In Monkey, choose the Driver software to install and follow its instructions re: when to connect your Pod via usb.

Try using the Line 6 Uninstaller to remove any partially installed X3 drivers and start again. You should find the Line 6 Uninstaller in the Line 6 programs folder in the All Programs list in the Start menu (if using Windows).

                    Re: cant install pod x3

OK - a few things about the USB connection requirements:

                    - MUST be using usb 2.0 ports (not usb 3 if your computer is brand new)

                    - MUST NOT be using any usb hubs

Suggestion: try other usb ports on your computer; back panel ports are usually the best to try; they are less likely to have a hidden, internal hub.

Another installation method: manually download the X3 driver from the Downloads tab at top of this page. Then run Line 6 Monkey and use the 'Install from File....' option in the lower right side of the main Monkey window.

Based on your initial post, I think this is a new computer and you previously had things working on a different computer. I presume that you have also followed the suggestions of Line6David above and that things are still not working.

That suggests to me that the 2 usb ports on your new computer are linked to an internal hub which is preventing proper operation. You might look into purchasing an additional card for your computer - one that provides you with a USB 2.0 port that will communicate directly (not through a hub) to your host usb controller.

.... or perhaps someone else has another idea. Try following the new thread that sidecut started as mentoined above - maybe there are other ideas there.

The current drivers are Win7 compatible - that should not be a problem.

    @ sidecut:

This issue could be related to a number of things. First check your connections.

Have you tried connecting to different USB Ports?

Are you using a USB hub?

Make sure you have the latest drivers installed:

      http://line6.com/software/

Then try the optimizations in our USB Troubleshooting Guide:

      Thanks,

    RE: cant install pod x3

    Hey ciaran15,

Please remove any additional unnecessary USB and firmware devices from your computer when troubleshooting this issue.

I would suggest that you use the Line 6 Uninstaller located at:

      C:\Program Files\Line6\Tools

      C:\Program Files(x86)\Line6\Tools (Windows Vista/7 location)

Make sure to disconnect your Line 6 hardware from the computers USB port before you launch in the uninstaller. Launch the uninstaller and select only the Line 6 Drivers from the check-able boxes. Proceed to uninstall the drivers and restart the computer once it has completed.

Upon restart, keep your Line 6 hardware disconnected, and proceed to download and install the latest Line 6 Windows Drivers from the link below:

      Windows Drivers 4.2.4.9:

      http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=4143

Towards the end of the installation, you will prompted to reconnect your Line 6 hardware, make sure that it is turned on before you connect it when prompted. Make sure to connect it directly to a USB port and not a USB hub, extension, or keyboard of any kind, preferably connect it to a USB port on the rear of computer. Upon completion of the Line 6 Driver installer, Windows should display a message by your system clock indicating that it has detected your Line 6 hardware, click on the message to proceed to install the Windows drivers. Make sure to follow through with the Windows driver installation and click continue anyway to the message that will appear. Once this finishes, look for Windows to display another message by your system clock that your Hardware has been installed successfully.
