ILok and model packs

Hello all, My Pod XT eventually died on me . . . I have another interface, so I rushed out and purchased and ILok so I

can still use Podfarm 2.5 with my model packs through garageband. .

 

BUT

 

I cant use any of my model packs and after much searching it seems I need to connect the (retired) POD . .

This is very frustrating as I don't want to pay to get it repaired just to get the model packs from it (it's 8 years old!!!)

 

Is there any way of using my purchased model packs with pod farm and ilok

    Unfortunately model packs and/or a Line6 hardware POD Farm license will not transfer to i-Lok.

     

    However, if you have a valid POD Farm 2 license (which upgrades to 2.5 for free) you should be able to authorize your computer to use POD Farm 2.51 without the need to connect your PODxt. This is a new feature in PF 2.5.

    So if you did pay for a PF2 license, try running the License manager.

    model packs NEVER work with iloks anyway...

    with an ilok you can either go standard (no model packs) or platinum (all model packs)

    however,,, with pod farm 2.5 you should just get the computer license... you won't need an ilok at all...

    and the computer licence CAN use your model packs.

      Hi Both of you helpful chaps!

       

      License Manager can see my computer  . . lists the model packs

       

      the model packs dont show up in any of my programmes POD FARM 2.5 STAND ALONE or Garage band

       

      what can i do?

        the serial number is wrong for my computer in License manager

        but on Line 6 website it says this computer was registered in July this year which means it must be this machine thats registered.

         

        Still can't get any of my model packs working with Pod Farm 2.5

         

        as you can see the model packs show up as purchased . . although they are on my broken POD XT which i dont want to replace.

         

        How do i get the model packs to work with POD FARM 2.5

         

        In license manager It says some thing about purchasing an add on?!?!

        for model packs to work . .i have searched this and cannot find anything!

         

        ANYONE?

      I see you purchased the crossgrade for POD Farm 2.5. Was this the standard or platinum crossgrade?

      Hi David, it was standard!

       

      But I am right in thinking that I should be able to use my model packs with Pod Farm.

      . . .it says you can on the bit at the bottom on License Manager ( in the picture attached above)

        i tried to tell you, you need a computer license and not an ilok license to use model packs...

         

        as long as your pod farm authorization comes from the ilok you will not be able to use the model packs...

        your picture quite clearly does not show a computer license or authorization for pod farm... only the model packs....

          What is this computer license?

          It clearly states at the bottom of license manager that an "add on" is required. Is this the computer license.?

           

          But I can't find any mention of it anywhere!

           

          Can you point me to it please?

          From this statement I assumed he had a Line6 Hardware PF 2 license.

            that's just saying WHY he bought the ilok+ilok pod farm license.

             

            he didn't realize... and many don't.... that with an ilok... you have standard or platinum only... no model pack usage.

              Hi Thanks for all the help Zap.

               

              So it looks like I have messed up bu buying an Ilok (£40) and the Ilok version of PodFarm.(upgrade $49.00)

              Because all I wanted to be able to do was use my model packs with Pod farm in garage band.

               

              Now I have 2 options.

               

              Upgrade to  Ilok platinum ( for an additional $149.00)

               

              Or buy the line 6 (computer version of PodFarm for €99.00) which I should have done in the first place.

               

              This was so unclear and I have wasted money. Humph!

    . . OH yes and Pod Farm 2.5 crashes all the time with Lion Mac Osx

    so not only have  I wasted money on something due to lack of clear information by Line 6.

     

    It crashes when you try to open a tone

     

    and it crashes when you try to save a tone.

     

    it works fine through garage band  . . . which is what i had before spending on ILOK and Pod Farm for ilok

     

    I now have a totally useless stand alone product THAT DOESN'T WORK.

     

    What does Line 6 have to say about this? comments please?
