Using FBV Shortboard MKII with POD HD and POD Farm Platinum 2.51

I own a Spider Valve MKII and have an FBV Shortboard MKII to go with it. Then I purchased a POD HD Desktop, figuring to use my FBV Shortboard MKII to control it. But when I plugged it into the POD HD, the FBV Shortboard MKII didn't control much except the wah/volume.  I couldn't turn delay, mod, etc. or change presets or banks or anything. I thought it was going to be automatic, but I guess I need to program these things? I have the FBV Control software on my computer but I've never programmed MIDI before. So what I need to know is if I have to program my FBV Shortboard MKII to use it with the POD HD desktop; and any suggestions as to how to do it with the FBV Control as I've not had cause to use it yet and am not really a midi guy. Also, I own POD Farm 2.51 Platinum. I suppose i'd have to program this too. Any advice?

One more thing - if I have to program my  FBV Shortboard MKII to work with POD HD and POD Farm Platinum 2.51, will I have to program it individually for each preset?

Thank you!

You really should give the advanced manual for the HD bean a read...Your suspicions are correct...You have to program the footswitches...But you do it on the bean itself...put the cursor on the effect block, hold enter and then select the FS you want...You can assign more than one block to the same switch.,,,you can have things come on and go off at the same time...Then there is the expression control which is pretty darn cool...

In terms of using the MK2 SB as a midi controller with POD Farm, I am less familiar with what that might entail...

    Hey Springo,

As spaceatl mentioned above, you will need to program the POD HD bean to use the FBV Shortboard MKII the way you want it to work. To do so, follow the instructions available in the POD HD advanced users guide starting on page B1 at the link below:

    http://l6c.scdn.line6.net/data/l/0a06434d15d544dd1b5422dac8/application/pdf/POD%20HD%20Advanced%20Guide%20(Rev%20B)%20-%20English.pdf

You will need to program each preset to work the way you want it to on the Shortboard.

As for using the Shortboard to control POD Farm 2.51, we have a helpful video that shows you how to use the MIDI learn feature of POD Farm to assign parameters to your Shortboard, you can view at the link below:
