Corrupted/damaged drum loop in my JM4?

Hi everyone.
Hope someone can help me out with a problem I've noticed on my JM4.
One of the drum loops appears to have become damaged or corrupted. It's patch 072 My Sun. The drum loop starts as normal then after a few kick drums there is a very short crackle and the sound drops out momentarilly, then returns as normal. If you continue to play the loop it crackles and drops out in the same place every time.
I first thought it was a bad cable, but I've tried many and as the drop out/crackle is in the same place every time it seems like it must have something to do with the actual loop having become somehow corrupted in the units ROM. Could that be possible? It's one of my favorite loops, and I've never had trouble with it before. Will performing a factory reset solve the problem?
The strange thing is that it seems only to be this particular patch/loop. The others appear to play fine.
Any help/advice anyone can give would be most helpful.
Thanks

I've been listening to "My Sun" on our office JM4 for the past 4 mins; none of that is occuring on this unit.
Sounds like a re-install of the firmware is the solution. Back in the Beta-Testing days, I had loaded up this exact JM4 with a firmware downloaded from the website via internet connection, but our A/V scan was actively scanning the download and somehow corrupted it. The result was really bad glitches on many of the recordings/drum tracks.
A re-download of the firmware.bin file (sans A/V scan active) solved the issue.
Link to the actual 2.09 JM4 Firmware data file here (disable A/V scan first, please!): http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=2381
And, in case you need additional info on how to install the firmware into your JM4: http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-1338
Hi Line6Perry,
Thanks so much for your reply. It seems like really good advice.
So, I've downloaded the 2.09 Firmware onto my SD card, but when I try to perform the upgrade I get the message "Firmware not found in root directory.'
The Firmware shows up on the SD card when you view it via 'My Computer' on the desktop.
I found out that Vista (which I'm using) sometimes blocks downloads from being totally accessible to protect against viruses etc, so, (thanks to Matador910) I've disabled the blocking process in Vista and still I can't load it up into the JM4. I've tried dowloading and re-loading the SD card three times, and re-formatting the card but still the same message.
Now, I did upgrade to v2.09 some time ago, and this is what is still in the JM4. Is that the reason I can't upgrade the Firmware? Because it's actually the same.
Still having problems...
Can you please give me any more advice?
Thanks very much for your time.

UPDATE.
Ok, got the Firmware installed. (I'd re-named it after dowloading it , so that's why it wasn't being read.
'My Sun' is playing as normal without the crackles and dropouts!
All solved.
Thank you very much for your help.
