I called them and have a ticket on the problem, but it didn't sound like they were doing much about it. They wanted to know if I had another computer I could try and blamed it on my computer configuration.

I think the latest driver is problematic, I'm going back to the one before.

APC does have to do with hibernation etc.. (advanced power control i believe)
i would try this...
install and run slim drivers: http://www.driverupdate.net/
it's free, and it will find drivers for your motherboard, chipset, etc... that are typically missed during standard driver updates...
i've heard from a number of people that this not only resolved issues, but improved overall performance...
no guarantee that it will fix your specific issue, since i don't know what it is...
but i certainly think this is worth trying.

Same here too. It's not your computer configuration, that's unacceptable. It's happening to too many people.
If Line6 write off their customer's like this it's going to be a real shame, not to mention a huge knock to their brand value.

So what now??? L6 doesn’t seem to care. If we get no response I may have to think about other options. Like maybe selling pod…. Don’t know what else to do.

Well I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I suggest everyone that's having this problem do the same.http://www.la.bbb.org/ComplaintDetail.aspx?CompanyID=13170779
At this point my complaint has been filed and I would appreciate that only customer's that are experiencing this problem or Line6 post responses to this thread. I appreciate the "Expert Users" but you can not fix my problem unless you can write the software code to fix the problem or want to give my $500 plus tax back. Thanks.

I did have problems with the HD Edit when it crippled my HD into constant reboot screen that was resolved by using the hardware reset trick. I aslo lost sync and hd wierd noises before I had to unplug my POD. At the time I thought to myself that I will use the HD edit and if the problem continues; I wouldl stop using the HD Edit and use the POD control panel until the problem is resolved by line 6. I realize how annoying it is for most of us who are used to tweeking using computers, but it's not the end of the world if for some reason or another I can't use the Edit. Many users don't even bother with the HD edit. I think filing a complaint is a bit extreme, no Pun intended, BulldogXTRM. I doubt that line 6 won't do their best to resolve any problem as soon as they can. You catch more flies with honey.
When you connect any gadget to your computer, pc or mac, you're not assured it will work flawlessly. I've had problems with Roland Synth completly freezing when used with my PC in addition to many gadgets that refuse to work with certain motherboards etc. If you Like the product sound, I think patience is the way to go. Filing complaints is only aggrevating to yourself as much as it is to Line 6. Why should I aggrevate these guys and demand that the HD Edit work flawlessly in my system, they're already doing the best they can and when the HD EDit works it is one of the best editors made by any other company in the same field. Try AXE edit or Pro tools..

Dean,
I respect your opinion but do you see in this thread or any other thread where Line6 has responded with anything other than generic responses? No, trust me I have not seen anything other than generic responses on this problem. Even with my support ticket there is nothing but a generic response. Line6 is making this a problem more than it had to be. If they had said once I posted that this was a known issue or at least worked with me to troubleshoot and fix the problem then I wouldn't be to the point I am. Instead they have not given a status update or anything else other than to say they'll look into it. Frankly, I'm PO'ed.
I purchased a product which was supposed to work a particular way and this product doesn't work that way without severe issues. I have had a set of $100 headphones ruined by this issue and had my ears rung because of it. I have since learned to recognize the issue and the stalls that are present right before the problem manifests itself and I'm able to turn my volume on my amp down or pull my headphones off to prevent the hearing loss.
If you buy something, it should work as the manufacturer intended and portrays the product to work. No my friend, this is an issue that must be fixed by Line6. When you buy something to connect to your computer, you are assured that it will work, that's what they post the "Windows XP, Windows 7, Mac supported".
Don't misunderstand, I'm happy with the tones I get and don't want to get rid of HD500, I think the POD HD series is very good when it comes to tones, but Line6's support is severely lacking and the accompanying POD HD software/firmware/driver combination computer code is very poor on the side of stability.
At this point I simply want Line6 to acknowledge and ensure us that they WILL fix the problem not we'll look into it. And I want them to replace my Shure SRH440's that their product ruined. If they can't fix the problem, then I want them to replace my headphones and refund my money.

Don't get me wrong BulldogXTRM, I just learned throughout the years, that the best solution is trying to be pragmatic. It's not about who's right or wrong that will solve the problem. To give you an example of where I'm coming from, my town where I live, recently didn't send the tax bill out in time so I called after not receving to be told that I will have to pay a late fee of $100. I was furious but quickly realized that "I can't beat city hall" so I saved myself the aggrevation and changed my tone with the person from my town at the other end of the phone line that said it was my responsibilty to find out about my bill and how much taxes I owe even as she admitted that my bill wasn't sent out.. that ofcourse followed by me going going off in disbelief at the positionthat she held where she claimed that they had no responsibilty to send out the Bill. All I'm saying is: no matter who's right or wrong, most organizations never will admit to being wrong and approaches that rely on pointing to who's at fault, sadly and unfortunately are seldom fruitful because both sides will stomp their feet and get defensive...
Getting back to topic: I bet if you read the licence agreement to installing the Line 6 edit, it will probably state clearly that they can't be held liable for damages as a result of using line 6 Edit..these policies are industry wide as I'm sure you aware. I hope you can see where I'm going with this. I recommend talking to a live person and see how that goes and best of luck to you. All I'm trying to do is just save you some aggreavation
.Kind Regards,
Dean
