Missing Model Packs

I purchased a PodXT Live pedalboard used back in 2005. Have used it for years with no issues. I recently bought a Vetta II combo, and decided while I was updating it, I would go ahead and update my PodXt Live as well. I did a backup as recommended but when it finished, my Metal Shop and Classics FX packs were not longer installed. I tried restoring from backup, but even though my patches are there, it says they "contain an amp or effect from an expansion pack you do not own". These expansion packs were on the device when I bought it. How can I recover them?
Thanks!
unless you actually bought the model packs they are lost....
if they were on there when you bought it... they still belong to the original owner...
they were not transferable then...
they ARE transferable now... if you get in touch with the original owner they can gift the licenses to you.
Well that is not right. Back when I bought it, I specifically remember having to contact the person I bought it from and have them transfer the registration over to me. I was a little surprised when I logged into my Line 6 account a few weeks ago and saw that the podxt was no longer there. So now I am out $100 for the expansion packs. I was going to add the bass expansion pack (which is why I decided to update the board) but if I have to buy all three then that's a deal breaker. I've lost a little faith in Line 6 over this one.
the registration, isn't the same thing... as i said... before licenses were 100% non-transferable... so the guy really couldn't legally sell them to you.... most users didn't know this... so he probably had honest intentions...
they've fixed it now, and if you can contact the orginal seller they can gift you the licenses....
here's some details: http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2277
i'm sure that support will look into this for you, and possibly they can help you find the original seller or something....
keep in mind, they didn't get a nickel of your money for a used purchase, or licenses either one... for this device anyway... doesn't mean they can't/won't help you... just means i'd ask real nice for best results ![]()
I feel exactly the same. I also bought a used XT with 3 model packs. The guy who sold me the XT transfered the registration over to me and I've been using them for 3 years now, without any problem.
Now, Line6 changes something and the packs are lost, making it my problem.
I have no idea who the original seller is. This was 3 years ago!
To timvanderloo,
If you require Line 6 support please start your own thread and "Mark as question" so that you can be dealt with properly,
Saying that, the Pod XT Live came with the FX Junkie as standard, so you should get that back at the very least. A Line 6 rep will help you out soon.
How long does it usually take to hear from a Line 6 rep? I have had no word as of yet.
typically 48-72 hours... not counting weekends.... but its taking a little longer now... due to the recent holidays... and the current trade show (NAMM)
After reviewing your Line 6 User account, I can confirm that the Metal Shop and Collector's Classics model packs were indeed purchased by the original owner of the POD XT Live. The were removed when you used the License Manager to authorize your POD XT Live, at which point the License Manager checks your account and will install/remove model packs accordingly to match what you have purchased from the account that is logged into License Manager.
You will need to contact the original owner from whom you purchased it and have them gift the license into your account. At which point you may re-authorize any of your gear that you would like to install it on.
