x3 live question

Is it possible to upload xt tones to my x3 live unit through customtone?

    you need to use gearbox, but yes, you can use xt tones with an x3

        Yep download gearbox. Then go to custom tone and download the files you want and put them into a sensible location on your computer (I have a folder called tones set up in My Documents).

         

        Then launch Gearbox. In the gearbox screen you have an option to load a tone (into either the tone 1 or the tone 2 slot). Select that and then navigate to where you stored the tone.

         

        Another option is to make sure that you open the hardware window in gearbox and then you can drag and drop the file to the patch location that you want.

         

        Be aware that all this will do is to load the tone in to Gearbox. You can play the tone and preview it - however if you want to transfer the tone to your X3 so you can use it away from the computer you need to use the put command in gearbox.
