Cannot connect spider edit

I can connect the fbv shortboard to my laptop but i the line6 monkey and the spider iv edit does not show any line 6 devices.  How can I get these to connect

    If you check the Effects sections of these boards, you will see this is not an uncommon problem.

     

    What OS are you running - PC or Mac?  Make sure the USB cable is connected direct to the computer and not a USB hub and that you have disconnected any other USB devices.  Disable any virus or firewall software.

    I could not get Monkey to recognize the FBV running Vista, but when I did it with an XP computer, I had no problem!

    Spider Edit recognizes the FBV in Vista with no problems at all.

    Spider Edit will not recognize the Spider IV amp as being connected if the Spider's flash memory is prior to v2.00. You have to update the amp's flash memory in order for it to be compatible with Spider Edit. Instructions on how to do so are available in our video tutorial at the link below:
