I am guessing the problem is that you also have distortion/gain dialed in on the amp. Distortion X Distortion results in noise. Use a Clean sound on the amp, if you want to use an external distortion pedal. Feedback is a function of amp volume, guitar pickups and guitar proximity (how close you are to the speaker).
For the Wah issue, I imagine it is a matter of the drive settings and tone settings on the amp. A Wah is essentially a sweeping tone control - bass to treble. If the amp tones are set with treble very low or mids/lows high, then the wah effect will be minimal.

I always go to the clean channel when using the distortion pedals (and I turrn the Drive to 1) and the pedals stil sound strange. I belief it might be the fact that the amp is a digital modeling amp.

Finally got the chance to try out my Spider IV 75 with an old Boss fuzz box and my Morley Wah/Vol pedal.
With amp presets that are heavily driven/distorted, the fuzz pedal added nothing to the sound at all. For cleaner presets, it did what it was supposed to do.
The Wah acted like it should, as well, when used with presets that did not have pitch/phase shift FX going. If the preset did, then the wah sometimes had almost no effect on the sound - because it was used at the start of the tone chain (PRE). I suspect if I wanted to use Wah with these presets, I would use the FBV Express pedal set to POST wah.
So it seems, when using an outboard effects pedal, there are some that will work better than others - for some sounds.
I tried this both with a Strat clone (clean rhythm and heavier bridge humbucker) and an acoustic-electric 12 string.

Hi,
Your pedals should work the same as if you plugged them into and Solid State/Tube amp. What are the specific stomp boxes you are trying to use? Have you tried different guitar cables?
Thanks,
David

He listed the pedals in his first post. 'Feedback' problem = too loud for the room/guitar too close. He hasn't returned to this thread since Feb 9 ... maybe he figured things out!
