Spider Valve 212 volume problems

I received my new spider valve 212 today and i'm not sure if it has a fault or i am just being daft. Everytime i change a sound patch or bank the amp changes to full volume it seems even with the master volume set low  you have to turn the channel mix dial up then down to reduce the volume . even if the master volume is on lowest setting as soon as you change the sound patch it turns itself to full volume again and the only way to quieten it is to turn that channel mix dial up then down and it will set the level. surely the channel mix level should stay set so when you change sound patches or banks its at a constant volume.   please can someone help

You have to store the patch to capture the "Channel Volume" setting...The "Presence" and "Master" are 100% analog and thier values are never stored...The artist and song presets have extremely high channel volume settings...This is what it is...You can get it properly adjusted within the 36 User preset locations...

    Hello,

This information is correct. In addition, you can see the Spiver Valve manual and the following link for more information on saving and creating tones:

so if the master is 100% analog how come is changes if you have is set at a particular value? why doesn't the master stay were you put it? and why would they overlook such an important aspect of there amps. I remember I had this same problem with my flextone 3 xl.

The position of the master volume does stay wherever you have it set throughout patch changes.  What changes is the channel volume and the drive setting on the amp models.  Nothing was overlooked.  It just takes a little bit of time and effort to even out the levels of your patches.  It's pretty much typical for devices that rely on presets.

Re: Spider Valve 212 volume problems

It stays exactly where you left it...The channel volume that feeds the master and changes with a patch change since its value is stored...If this doesn't compute then aquiring a basic understanding of the "gain structure" as it realates to the signal path in the SV might be helpful...The same it true for the Flextone III...I have had my 3XL for nearly 5 years now...exactly the same...One must balance the volume of patches using the channel volume...That is why the Artist and Song presets in the SV are pratically useless...The channel volumes are all over the map and the presets are NOT relationally balanced...You can correct this only in the 36 user presets...Does that make sense?
