Bigsby on a variax

Ok, so i've got a 500. I love it to death, but would love a trem on it. can't afford to buy a 600 or a jtv, so is it possible to fit a bigsby a la telecaster?

Unfortunately it's not going to be possible... the piezo pickups are individually-mounted (and soldered to points below the bridge assembly). Bigsbys typically use a Tune-O-Matic type of bridge for the "break" and then the arm mechanism sits behind the bridge. I know what you're after, but it's not going to be possible with our Variaxes, sorry.

      wrong.............

if  you add this  graphtech  bridge... then you can   put the  bigsby   or any    other  non fender  style  tremelo  on your  guitar.

Both of my Variax transplants have Bigsby style trems with Graphtech Tuneomatic bridges, it would be very easy to do this mod on a Variax 500.

How does the bigsby work with the piezos? On another thred crusty was saying a bigsby with a variax woul cause all sorts of problems. Are you using the bigsby with the models or did you add magnetic pickups to your transplants?

I am toying with ordering a warmoth L5 and xplanting jtv guts into it. And. . .yes it would be purple. . . lol. .

Did you ever get around to posting pics of your xplants? Could not find any photos online of a variax with bigsby.

I've been looking into this too.

I've a left handed variax 300, so as you can imagine i'm in a worse situation than you are to sort out the hardware side.

There's the graphtech option with a peizo bridge and bigsby.....

OR...you could fit a floyd rose or strat style trem, and have a look at graphtech's saddle tranducers which should fit floyd rose, or strat style guitars, which should give you all you need i would think.

I'm seriously considering this option as i can get a L/Handed FR copy for £20 english or less....and i don't need to worry about import duty as the price is below the threshold.

    Thoughts?
