Hi guys im new to the forum not exactly sure if this is where I should post this but I was wondering if anyone had problems with getting their UX2 to work I downloaded all the software its all plugged in with my brand new MXL990 mic and it still wont record anything. I even just tried a free recording program and it still wont even work on that. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks again!
Did you check your mic?Maybe requires phantom power.Did you downloaded the drivers and the pod farm?Did you connect the speakers to the soundcard ux2?Is the pod farm running?
I thought the UX2 had phantom power? I mean it least I hope so, thats why I bought it lol...As far as the drivers go I believe I downloaded the correct ones, I hope...Now connecting the speakers to the sound card that I do not think I did. How do you go about doing that? I thought even if I wasnt using pod farm I still could use it on a different application such as audacity. Audacity does read that thre is a mic connected, but when I select it and try to record nothing happens. This has been a problem for me for months and I havent even used it yet because of how much a pain it is. Thank you for your response hopefully I can get this resolved.
Yes,it has phantom power, press the button between the 2 mic input at the front of the ux (where are the indicators). One red light will turn up.About the speakers,mI am connecting them to the phones, because I don't have monitor for the moment,so I am using a 2.1Otherwise I connect the monitors at the rear panel of the UX at the analog out or the monitor stereo (depending the jack if separate or together for each monitor).About the mic,you must always run podfarm and select mic at the pod farm's mixer (where it says instrument, simply press it and change it to mic 1 or 2)
I'm a bit upset with this brand new piece of crap, the Line 6 UX2. Brand new computer (Macbookpro, using Garage Band). In the literature it doersn't say anything about needing a softward program to use it. The software is is also crappy. I wish I could send this back for a refund, after 4 hours of dinking with it on both my Lion and Snow Leopard Mac machines, hard computer crash every time I plug the UX2. I will never buy another piece of crap line 6 product again, and will just have to go back to my superior, 5 year old $10000 M Audio usb interface. If you can't tell, I'm bummed abubt the lack of honesty with the advertising and ranking of this product. Actually, VERY disapointed!
I have never used an UX2, but maybe some help in this forum can be found:
