Hey
I've been using Line 6 forever now
I own and owned Pod Xt, Pod2, Pod X3 live, Vetta HDII ,Guitar Wireless, UX1, and now POD HD500
Recently I sold my PODX3 LIve and bought PD HD500
Though it might sound perfect to others, I think a few thing are missing from the earlier version that I really like.
So I instalelled my UX1 on my computer also , but now I see I can't use the expansion packs and need to buy them?
I feel it's a bit unfair that after everything I bougt from Line 6 I need to pay for the expansion packs and wondered if I can contact someone who can understand my situation and add them to my UX1 for free...??
Thanks
Raz
Well, if you never bought the expansion packs for your XT or your UX1, than you don't own the licenses for them. When you had the X3L, you had access to all the models that were on the X3L in plug-in form in POD Farm (not in the standalone version of POD Farm, though).
Basically, the model packs are tied to the device you bought them for. There is some amount of transferring between devices you can do, but since all the model packs came with the X3L, there's no way to transfer them to anything else. So, if you still want the additional models, you'll have to buy the model packs.
I biught all the expansions to my Pod Xt -
I had them on my Pod X3 live
What I'm basically trying to say is that I paid Line 6 alot of money, and I think the Pod HD500 don't provide me with what I need 100%, so I'm asking for Line6 to give me the expansions, without paying another 50$
Too much to ask?
if you already bought them... run monkey... log into the license manager and authorize them on your computer....
noone will have to give you anything... if you bought them then you will have access.
Do you still own the XT? As Zap says, you should be able to access them then.
I bought them but then I gave away my PodXt since I didn't need
I had it with both of my previous PODS, and now I don't have it
Isn't these a way to contact Line 6 representetive?
as the users above have pointed, all you need is using License Manager to activate and authorise your Licenses: http://line6.com/account/licenses/instructions/

I think we are all missing what this guy is really asking for. Correct me if I am wrong Raz; You want to use the expansion packs with your HD500 right?
Well if that IS what you are saying then you are asking for something that is not possible. HD500 is completely different technology. Even if they wanted to give you (and nobody else on the planet) a free ride, they wouldn't work.
If you mean you want them for your UX1 then I am not sure but the monkey and license manager should get you rolling.
No, he's asking if he can use them in his UX1.
Unless Line 6 introduce a 'loyalty card' card like you get in supermarkets, then I don't think you'll be getting free stuff based on what you bought before. I have absolutely tons of Roland/Boss kit, yet I've never even received a free compact foot pedal off them. Tight buggers. A few stickers was the best I managed.
In the real world no-one owes you anything. However, as stated, you should be able to use your licence manager to transfer them.
Hi,
I see that you have purchased the Bass Expansion and Metal Shop seperately. You should be able to run license manager and install these add-ons:

However the "Platinum" model pack set resides on the memory of the X3 Live so Collectors Classics and Power Pack will be missing in your new setup.
Thanks,
David
