clean delay with distorted sound

How can i get a clean delay, either ping pong or digital, but at the same time have my main patch sound distorted.

When i use distortion, the delays are distorted and i don't really like the sound of them.

I've tried messing about with the Wide routing, but to no avail.

Many Thanks

Gary

The only ways i can think of to do this is:

    • Set up two amps at once in stereo panned hard left and right.
    • make one amp distorted, the other clean.
    • Put a stomp box delay in front of the clean amp.
    • futz around with the stomp's levels and the clean amp's panning to get the delay where you want it.
    • adjust the panning of the distorted amp to try to balance the stereo field.
    • The only delay repeats that you should hear will be from the clean amp.

Unfortunately, i don't imagine that this will sound very good....

You MIGHT be able to do the same thing with a post delay, since i think some of them let you control the left and right levels.

Sorry for not being clear; i just got a new computer and don't have Edit up an running at the moment.

    Hope this helps,

    Good Luck,

    Joe
