POD HD TRS Outputs and FBV Pedal

2 Questions:

1. I have an older FBV controller (dual expression pedals from Vetta II era). Can I use it with the new POD HD black bean (I know it will probably have some limitations like when I used it on a POD XT).

2. What is the quality of the TRS outputs compared to the XLR outputs going into a tube preamp? Will I get the same results I am getting using XLR out?

Thank You.

    Hi

    1. Is it an FBV LongBoard?  If so it should work OK to a point.  Some of the foot switches etc.... will be redundant and working with functions such as the Quick Looper may require you to select Looper mode from the POD HD desktop itself.
    2. The POD HD desktop does not have XLR outputs.  You only have the choice of TRS 1/4" outputs.  The audio quality is the same as a POD HD500 which has both XLR balanced and unbalanced 1/4" outputs.  On the HD500 the 1/4" outputs can be set to LINE level or Amp level outputs, whilst the XLR outs are quieter at Mic level and require to be connected to a microphone ready channel on say a PA mixing desk or recording interface/console.

    Nick
