LD150 + FBV2 = silence

Hi

 

When I connect the FBV2 to my LD150 the bass amp still plays. As soon as I push one button of the pedal the sounds stops although the light are following the pedal pushes.

Any ideas?

    Forgot to mention thet I have to set the bass amp off in order to have it right again.

      Now, I red somewhere here that the FBV2 is not compatible with the LD150

       

      If this is true my questions are now:

      1) Why is this pedal mentioned in the manual to be used with this amp?

      2) There is a network-type connection for the pedal at the rear of the amp. Which type of pedal must I use to switch among the different programmed settings?

        Hi Rob,

        An FBV2 <--- (assuming this unit is OK, internally as well as your amp) is an FBV family controller. It should work with your amp.

         

        The first thing I'd check are the data pins on both the CAT-5 jacks (the one on the FBV2 and the LD150 amp). If any of them appear to be slightly bent or corroded, this could affect data transmissions.

         

        Try a different CAT-5 cable, too. Since ethernet cables are comprised of multiple (thin) wire strands inside the jacket shielding, any kinks or bends to the cable from wrapping them too tightly or strain could damage the wire continuity, resulting in incorrect/lack of communication.

         

        If you've exhausted those suggestions and the symptoms still persist, now the issue will be either with the FBV2 internally, or worse case scenario in the LowDown amplifier.           Hi Perry,

           

          The FBV2 is according to your site NOT compatible with LD150.

          On the features of LD150 one can read "Footswitch Jack for FBV Express™ or FBV Shortboard™" so, not at all mentioning the FBV2 pedal.

          On the other hand, in the complete list of Line 6 Pedal Compatibility (http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2413) it mentions the FBV2 being compatible with Low Down.

          Then, in the forum (http://line6.com/support/thread/67766) David answers to someone: "The FBV2 is not compatible with the LD150".

           

          In the shop they warned me about the lack of clarity one usually experiences with Line 6.

          Anyway, I changed it for the FBV express and this works fine in all aspects (switches and pedal).

          Unfortunately it costs me 3 times more for my purposes.
