USB record problem

I am recording through Pod Hd 500 usb port in my pc.
The sound seems to come a second after i play. the output is a little off than the realtime playing..Can anyone tell me wats the problem. Do i need a sound card???
What you are experiencing is called latency. Make sure in your recording program that you have monitoring turned OFF - you need to monitor your sound by using the HD itself. So make sure that you have your speakers connected directly to the HD.

+1 to johnpicton.
Have you chosen the ASIO driver as an audio device? If yes you can now try to decrease the asio buffer as low as possible, since you have no clicking or pause. Start from 512k and come down as much as possible (....,256k, 128k,....). Beside your pod and driver it depends from your pc speed and how much the cpu is occupied.
+1 to All,
Select the HD500 as an interface then decrease buffer size.
Thanks,
David
Tell the computer/recording software that the HD is your sound card, and use the pod as your input AND output (I use headphones)
No latency at all!

no the problem still exists..And its not when i record only, when i play the guitar using the pod, the sound seems to lag...
I changed the hardware monitor level to zero in the control panel line 6 midi devices, still no change..the sound is lagging behind...
You have to connect the speakers directly to the POD instead of to the PC or you'll always get some latency
how can i connect the speakers directly to the pod??
I have my amp connected to the pod but when i plug in the usb, the sound goes off...
Connect the jacks of the speakers to "R/Mono" and "L/Mono" on the POD or if you use a stero Hi-Fi, connect the stereo Aux output to these POD outputs or to "Phones". You probably need a 1/4" male stereo to stereo mini jack adapter to connect the jacks of the speakers or a stereo mini plug for the stereo connection.
Is there any way i can get the output from my amp when recording???
By amp do you mean your stereo hi-fi or a guitar amp?
Guitar amp...
