UX8 Volume Knob Crackles

Hi, I recently bought a UX8. Problem is the volume knob crackles ridiculously. I have tried turning it until the crackling disappears but the next day it always starts to crackle again just as bad. How do I get rid of the crackling? Is crackling covered by warranty? Cheers.
It's probably a dirty potentiometer. That can happen from time to time. Pick up soem Deoxit cleaner and spray it into the pot shaft and the tunr it back and forth a few times to see if that works. If not, you may need to have that pot replaced.

Does the volume knob just pull off? I tried pulling it off but it wouldn't come off. I didn't want to pull it too hard in case that's not how it's removed.
There are a few different types of Deoxit. Is the fader lube the best one to go with?
If I have to have the pot replaced, is it covered under the warranty?
Would someone from Line 6 support please answer my questions ![]()

Hi,
I don't know about the warranty etc., but maybe you could try asking here:

My apologies. The link I had given doesn't seem to work, so go to: http://line6.com/support and then I think "Contact Technical Support", then "Contact Technical Support" again I think Line 6 now use that for helping with problems.
I agree about asking about the knob. Better to ask and find out first before trying it with a lot of force and then breaking it ![]()
With my ux2, it looks like you could take the knob off ok. Not sure about the ux8.
Normally these things do just sit on, although sometimes a little screw can go through to tighten around the potentiometer's pole, but I don't think these ones do that.
God bless,
David
Hi. Slowly pry the knob off with a flat-head screwdriver. The UX8 has a one-year warranty if purchased new from an authorized dealer. You'd need to furnish a copy of your sales receipt for any warranty repair. MusicLink is the Australian service center. Here's the ideal lubricant:
