Hi,
i have buy my toneport in 2010 to a man and all was done in legally.
Everything as good, all was running perfect but....
yesterday a dumb has try to install a podfarm 2 platinum version (version i didn't have purchased and i guess this stupid guy get this on torrent or something else) my security center inform me of it.
So this morning to be honest and sure that nothing is dangerous i have tried to update all my toneport Gx driver, license manager, monkey etc.. andi save my user presets and a usb storage device and reinstall gearbox properly but now i am very upset because i lost all my model packs (classic, power pack and metal shop) in gearbox.![]()
i look in license manager i authorize my computer and toneport GX but there is no solution fo the moment.
when i look in my account from line website no more solution i get
i have look for eveything about line 6 in my windows XP and erase it to make an installtion properly and nothing is better!
It is very strange because i have tried to reinstall from the old CD in the box i have had the old monkey version and i saw the model packs and authorized it, but later it asked to update line 6 monkey so i did it and for now i have the same issue over and over again...NO MORE MODEL PACKS!
I have bought these ones with my GX i swear it i remember using JCM 900 clean and dist wich are not in gearbox!
So please help me before i become completely MAD§
You will need to get in touch with the person that sold this to you so he can "gift" you the model packs.
From this doc:
http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2277
I can’t use my licenses anymore. What happened?
Please understand that only the account that purchased the licenses will be able to access the licenses, regardless of who has the device containing the licenses. If you can’t access this account, you won’t be able to access the licenses contained within it.
For instance, if someone bought a Metal Shop license and assigned it with Line 6 Monkey to his POD XT, then later connected his friend’s POD XT Live to Monkey and allowed that unit to use the model pack, his friend will now no longer be able to use Metal Shop because his friend’s account was not used to make the purchase. The owner would have to “gift” the model pack’s store order to his friend’s account (see how to “gift” below).
Another case is a father using his Line 6 account to buy a model pack for his daughter. He’d have to “gift” the purchase to her account for her to have access to the model pack.
Another scenario involves licenses purchased online. Line 6 is the only authorized seller of licenses for use with Line 6 devices. If you purchased Line 6 licenses from anywhere other than the Line 6 website, the licenses were originally purchased using a Line 6 user account other than your own and the licenses have reverted to that account. The account owner would have to “gift” the store order to you in order for you to use the licenses you purchased from that individual. Line 6 plays no part in this situation.
What if I sell my device? What happens to my licenses?
If you intended to sell your licenses with the device, then you can “gift” the relevant store order(s) to the buyer.
If you didn’t intend to sell your licenses with the device, when the buyer runs the License Manager and logs in, it will prompt him to authorize the hardware, which will remove the device authorization from your account and restore the licenses for use with your account.
How do I “gift” a store order?
Log in to your Line 6 account, visit the Purchase History page, and click the Details link for the order. Click the link/button labeled "gift", then enter the destination Line 6 account username and click confirm. The order will still show in your account history, but you will not have access to the license(s) from the order, be able to return it, or be able to gift it again. The giftee's account will display the order on the Purchase History page, but not be able to return or gift it. The account holder will have access to all the license(s) in the order.
The person who bought sold me the toneport GX had already gift me the model packs in 2009!
As i said, everything was right until i decided to update to new line6 monkey and license manager (what a stupid software!
) and changed my password account.
Now when i run gearbox i don't see the model packs except in tonelocker>gold bundle but if i choose for example a 1992 brit j-900 clean it want to subsitute with a j-800.
I really don't know what happened!
i remember the beginning of the Week i had used this model but now all is gone !
may be a line 6 hotliner could check my account and see if my model packs are still registered with my toneport GX! here is
the info:
seriel: (21) TGX0s5735014854
ESN:01565927.
may be something is wrong with the XTL (?) ?
i don't believe that gifting was possible in 2009... but if my dates are off... changing your account would cause issues as well....
+1 to Zap, gifting was not possible until POD Farm 2.5 was released.
Wait, what? XTL????
At the time the seller probably sold it to you will good intention, assuming the license would stay tied to the GX if he did remove them first.
I believe the new licensing approach addressed a common complaint of not being able to share licenses with your own compatible gear and to be able to transfer license when selling your product.
i remember (i think my memory is not bad) the seller has "gifted" it as soon as i sold me the toneport and pack, so the issue might not come from there.
all i know is everything goes wrong since i i updated to last version of gearbox, monkey, and license manager.
When i was using the CD brought with the toneport GX in 2009 all was good! i saw the panel with my models packs, and authorize.
But now monkey has updated to the last version, license manager appears and i see no model packs, no panel to authorize.
Why all work perfectly at the beginning of the WE and all goes wong as soon as new license manager is on my computer!
All i want is a line 6 member check if my model packs are still attached to my ESN and if i could help me to get back my model packs in gearbox !
PS: if someone knows the phone number of line 6 in France all informations are welcome!
That's just the difference with the license manager..... Before the license manager licenses belonged to the hardware.... After they belong to the user account that purchased them.... So if it wasn't you that paid for the license you don't own them unless they were gifted to you buy the original purchaser. Gifting was only possible since the license manager existed.... Before that licenses could not be transferred... Sorry.... You can call line6 to confirm using the number from the contact us link at the bottom of the page.... They are only available Monday through Friday 9-5 pacific time
You'd need to use the uk number for France with similar local hours
first i am very bad with english sepaking nobody understand me!
And secondly why should i contact line 6 the issue come from them and their stupid license manager and his way to menage the toneport and the gold bundle.
Before, when the packs were linked with hardware all was simple and clear, now for example if somebody steal my account i am cheated and can't use anymore.
I want Line6 member to come here and to solve my problem !It is their job no mine to call to solve! When my electric network fails in my house i don't have to carry it to the company, they send me an expert !do it so please!
well you asked for a number....
they may well have someone on the line that speaks french seeing as how that number serves europe its not impossible...
but if you don't want to try and help yourself... i can't help you...
hopefully someone comes along to help you.
I checked your account and it looks like the original owner gifted the licenses to you.
i for one am growing tired of Line 6 and their interfaces. I think they have tried to do lots of things but failing to do the basic things right first. The FBV Control app is crap. The custom tone site is crap, having different file extensions for different products is crap )why can't hd150's use .l6t files? why isn't there a converter? why do we have to pay extra money getting new tones, if 'm going to spen more money on tone, i would buy a better amp.
