Anyone have any luck with the new "Vintage Preamp" for phase correction?

I have been trying to fit the "Vintage Preamp" in my chain to correct the phase on my dual cabinet presets. The problem I keep running into is that it changes the tone of the amp. My guess is that this is because it's a preamp and is going to color the tone. When I reverse the phase, it makes a big difference in the tone, but makes everything kinda fuzzy (I'm placing the preamp before amp block A or B). Just wondering if anyone has had any luck using this or if it's better to use a couple transparent EQ's after the amp block.
i have not - since it can only flip the phase 180 degrees, I don't find it really relates to the dual cab/mic issue, which is actually a very slight delay in one of the signals. My technique to acheive correction has been to use EQ's (sometimes with completely neutral settings) on one of the signals. This seems to create a VERY short delay to the signal, which puts it in phase with the other. See my guide for more info:

For correcting phase, should I run a summed/mono signal via the 1/4" output to my FRFR?
yeah, if you've got it sounding good phase-wise, you should be able to run your tone mono and have it sound good. If you're running each cab to a separate left/right speaker, then the phase issue is much less of an issue to start with. where correcting phase really helps is when you're trying to make a mono tone.
