HD 500 restarting can't update firmware

I just Purchased a James Taylor Variax and I was installing the software on a new computer. After updating the hd500 it now reboots constantly every 10 seconds or so. I looked at the forms and I can't find a way to reset it to factory defaults with out connecting it to monkey. However I can't get it to stay connected long enough without restarting to redo the firmware. This has taken the fun out of my new guitar. The Hd 500 worked perfect until I ran monkey on it today. How do you redo it if it won't stay on long enough to reinstall the firmware?
hold down the left key while powering on... this should reset the global settings and allow you to continue... (hopefully)
I think that restored it but it still won't update. I am getting code 80007211 . It says that I am loosing connection and should check my cables. I know my cables are fine. I am searching for that error now.
Now I got it to update flash but now the screen on the hd 500 is stuck saying "update flash" but monkey says it is updated. I have turned if off and on multiple times. Now that my firmware is suposibly updated how do I get it to get off the update flash page. I tried holding the button to the left while I turned it on. What should I do?
now it is back to rebooting every few seconds
unhook everything hold left, power on and reboot globals again
now connect only the usb (might try a new port and new cable)
assuming it comes up... launch monkey reflash...
you might have a bad tone.... you might want to tell monkey NOT to save your tones....
(try to backup before flashing using edit if it comes up operable)
