POD HD500 USB Receptacle Damage

Looks like the USB receptacle on my HD500 is damaged.  My best guess is the small block on the interior of the USB receptacle came out when I unplugged the USB. I've looked but cannot find the missing piece.

I bought the POD in a Guitar Center in Avondale Arizona and registered it with Line6 on the 21st of February 2011.

I would like to get this repaired. What's my next step?

Exactly the same thing happend to me bro, even though I'm able to record and such via USB. I think that little part was a bit loose when I bought my POD and now it's gone.

You're not alone and don't ask Line 6 reps on here for help. They'll say you abused it or got it that way....... It appears a few have had it repaired under warranty....Please let us know what happens...You can check the following threads if you need some more info.....

As you can seen, you're not alone...... However since it seems some are getting it repaired under warranty maybe Line 6 has acknowledged the issue....but haven't made an announcement about it....

What a pain...at first I thought it was a different USB port and checked the threads to see if I could find something out.  I have had my POD less than 2 weeks and it certainly has had no abuse whatsoever and only about 5 hours of total usage.  I have a musical I am preparing for and I simply don't have time for this.  Since I'm complaining, I am not happy with the Edit software....due to its limited functionality, it is quite clear that is was not ready for release.  The sounds however, are very good.

If you've had it less than 2 weeks, I'd try to return it if you bought it new...That's what I did, I only had mine 2 days and this happened.... However, can't agree with you on the Edit software. I guess that one is a case of different strokes for different folks....Good luck, please keep us updated.

          Anything specific?

On the USB thing:  just press the warranty button (or exchange it if that is possible). There seem to be a few instances of this issue kicking around.  If the local service centre gives you any grief:   refer them back to the threads posted above or call Line 6 Corporate at the contact numbers below.

I had that problem too, and i could still record because i took another little piece from an old usb port and just put it there. But recently my computer won't see my device. Can you still connect your POD to your computer? If yes can you please describe me what your pins look like because i don't want to open up my device yet and sold a new usb port because there is a lot to dissemble.

      Thank you.

I'm with you BucF16.  I'm on my second POD HD500 and both of them have lost the little black plastic piece.  I baby it when the USB cable is in place since I knew that it could happen on the second unit.  It still just comes out, and now I've lost it...
