All the 'programs'/controls are in your Spider amp - the FBV is just a fancy switchbox to control the amp.  If doing a factory reset (holding the A button in while turning on the power) didn't do anything and activating the Looper via the amp front panel buttons works, I would suspect the CAT5 cable to be at fault - check to make sure the cable is securely plugged into the pedal and the amp.  Try another CAT5 cable, if you have one.
