Correct signal chain with M9

I've always been a purist and got my crunch from a JCM 2000 and used the M9 thru the Marshall's effects loop. (pasive effects only) worked fine for 2 years.
I recently took the plunge and plugged it into the front of the amp (using a clean tone obviously) and just like everything in the search for tone, I found PROS & CONS. I was always afraid of losing that fat Marshall crunch, but I've dialed-in something better than I had before. This thing is designed to run thru the front of the amp and it does pretty well. After much experimenting, I've got something really good, but believe I can make it better, and it might be the order of the effects chain. I know you experts have had more experience with signal chain than me and Im looking for advice / suggestion.
The chain defaults from left to right (1,2,3) which is how I left it. Please check out my photo below and see if I can improve. Keep in mind the first effect in the signal is a wah,
LOVE channel one. Since one 1A cancels 1B, it awesome for going from a sweet clean comp tone, right into the crunch tone. I used to have to tap dance with my former setup.
Also, ignore the second comp in 3B. It got there by accident and does actually add a little juice in crunch mode without too much noise.
COMPLAINTS:
A) Delay sucks - it was so much nicer when in the FX loop. I've messed around changing it's order in the chain, but can't figure it out.
B) I want that Flange to sound like the early EVH / "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love' or "Unchained" "Atomic Punk" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m-DYM7JvMA (If anyone remembers that old stuff). Would things be more effective if changed around?
Thanks for any input!
