Is 1GB enough??

I am trying to get the SD card to work in my line 6 amp. Everytime i try to transfer a recording from the internal storage to the SD, it keeps coming up with, "not enough free storage". The SD card i use it 1GB, and the recordings are only anout 40 seconds long. How much storage do i actually need?
