4CM With HD Pro + GSP1101

Hi

I'm going back to valve amps after a using FRFR setups for a while. So, I'm considering using the 4CM as my next starting point in my never ending quest for ultimate tone and was wondering how I caould also hook up my GSP1101 as well ?

Would i just hook the HD Pro in series with the GSP and use FX blocks in the GSP if I need them (or not) and if so, what about volume levels etc ? I wont use the GSP for amp modelling, that will all come from the Pod but any advice on this would be very much appreciated.

I now await jimsreynolds to leap into the thread with his underpants on the outside of his trousers with all the answers - like he nornally does

Thanks again

      Yeah, you can do it.   If you really wanted to go nuts you could run a 4CM inside your 4CM (in principle at least ).

      The hookup would go

      • Guitar ->  Pod input
      • Pod FX Send --> GSP Input
      • GSP FX Send --> Amp input
      • Amp FX Send --> GSP FX return
      • GSP Output --> Pod FX Return
      • Pod  Output --> Amp FX Return

      By doing this, the setup will give you

           Guitar --> POD FX -->  GSP FX --> Real Preamp --> GSP FX --> POD FX --> Real Power Amplifier

      You could change it around and have the GSP FX wrapping the Pod FX or even some crazy hybrid by messing with the cabling order some more.

      I think though that you might just drive yourself nuts if you try and get too clever with all this.  What do you want from the GSP?
