Hi
Which SD card type is compatible to the M20d ?
In the manual there is no information about it, onl the class 10 (speed) is defined.
There are 3 types of scards available:
- SD card (version 01) - 16GB
- SDHC (version 02) - 32GB
- SDXC (version03) 32GB - 2TB
Thanks for support
Capacity is not restricted (as of now) so you can basically use any standard sized SD card as long as it is class 10 (speed) or greater.
There is a 2G file size limitation per track. That should give you roughly 4 hours per track of continuous recording (figuring about 8 MB/minute) so if you had 40g available memory you would have the maximum possible capacity in a single save.
Can I use a 64GB SDXC card with the stagescape ?
The SDXC is the latest standard of sdcard's, but not every device is compatible with this new standard !!!
Please let me know before I buy it.
Is it class 10?
try this one ... https://www.globalfulfillment.net/gfsnet/(S(oeikt03hlhsofmuok2e0vn3g))/line6/10Expand.aspx?ProductCode=97-000-0024
I tried using a class 10 20MB/sec card (I just clicked on your above link, and it's the exact same card you recommended in the above post); it worked for about 30 min and the kept giving errors, guessing because of speed. I bought a SanDisk 95MB/sec card and will be trying it out this Monday.
(FYI, both cards are 32GB)

Is it possible to use a class 10 64GB SDXC-Card ?
All class 10 cards work.
I got my 64GB SDXC class 10 card.
If you want to use it, you have to reformat it to FAT32.
I used the tool EaseUS Partition Master 9.1.1 Home Edition, because in Win7 it's not possible to format 64GB !!!
You can use multiple partitions. As I explained above the biggest file a track can see is 2g times 20 tracks.
I should have added in one more line. To clarify, even if you could partition to 64g or more you would not be able to address it. This is very similar to how SD works with video cameras.
I should also mention that this is how it works when you record StageScape to any media. There is a hard limit of about 4 hours of continuous recording.
I made a test recording with my 64GB sdxc card with 18 inputs.
I used a SanDisk Extreme SDXC UHS-I 64GB card.
it worked without a problem.
the max filesize is 2GB per wave file. That means you can record up to 4 hous at once.
my pc and also the M20d can access the complete 64GB of the SDcard.
That means you have not to create two partitions.
I tried the old card again, again gave an error. the faster card worked beautifully over two hour and a half sets, so I'd definitely reccomend one of the higher speed cards; I used the 32 gig version of http://sandisk.com/products/memory-cards/sd/extremepro-uhs-1-95mbs
