Hi !
I own my hd500/dt50 for 2 month ago. If found DT50 sounds better than the pod pre amp models. I've post many messages in the forum, and everybody tell me the pod pre amp are the same. I spend many time to configure my pod presets, but they still sound smaller, weaker than the DT50. My friends are agree, it's not my ears. I think the pod processor can't sound exactly as the dt50 amp.
I just want to use the pod as a midi controler to instantly switch between the 4 voicings, and use the pod in the effect loop as an effect processor.
It seems to be impossible because pod can send just one command for each footswitch...
Line6, your amp is so great, but we can't use it the way we want. Please update the pod hd 500 to control the entire DT50.
Up ?
you are simply missing some settings somewhere....
because they both use the same processing and the same models.
your ears are probably fine, you just haven't found the change you need to make.
I don't think my ears are better than the others. There're many people on this forum who can hear the difference. I'm just looking for a way to control my DT5O with the POD without altering hi sound. I can't understand why it's so difficult.
there's nothing wrong with your ears... never said there was... I'm saying that the pod already controls the DT amp...
you just have something set wrong...
there are many others that managed to make it work... and many others than made this same complaint because they gave up figuring it out...
i wouldn't want to do what you suggest because of the extra cabling etc... since you'd then have to go into the loop as well to get your post effects...
i'd especially not want to do it knowing that i didn't have to....
anyway there is no patch anyone can provide you to do this, because much of it depends on the global setup in the pod that isn't part of the patch....
anyway... you can't currently do what you want with the pod that's pretty clear...
and if you want to ask them to change anything you need to do that in the right place:

I spend so much time to configure the pod, read many post in this forum, read and read again the manual, etc. I'm sure I've done everything good, but there's always a difference. I recognize the pre amp model. I think it's true : the modelisation are the same. But the difference is more subtile. With pod, it sounds thin, weak, with very high frequencies which are disapointed. I think it's the difference between numeric and analogic. Maybe a problem with converters, I don't konw.
Line6 said the use of pod with DT50 is very easy. It's true. When I plug for the fisrt time everything was configured correctly, I just have to choose the good pre amp model. But it sounds not like the DT50 standalone.
If anybody has a solution, please tell me.
I've already open many topics for these sounds difference; Now I just wanna know if line6 will add midi features.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
