It has been a journey With my 59

First three months the push button worked when it wanted so getting to the modeling was frustrating ... Finally got a repair order to get it fixed and almost a month latter the guitar came back with out the battery ( which i sent with the guitar)

So with no battery ... don't know if it works and can only use with the magnetic pickups

They closed the original ticket on me so I have to set up another

Called line 6 last two days and the tech support line has tech problems ...

Wow

1400 for the guitar .. 40 more to ship it and still cant use it

Any thoughts?

you can always pickup a battery or an xps

or perhaps a pod that's capable of powering the variaxes...
Line6 should surely help you sort it out and get you a battery...
but one of these would be a nice backup.

I don't know if it's ur case but... if you happen to have an HD500, you can use the VDI cable to power up your JTV even without a battery

I assume this happens with the HD300/400 as well, but I only own the HD500

Now... without a battery, you can use the magnetic pickups.

Funny enough, I'm sending this week my JTV-59 cos the model knob is stuck so I cannot play at all... Gonna write a message saying "I want my battery back"

  Only the HD500 and HDPro have the variax (VDI) connector. The POD HD (black kidney bean desktop), HD300, and 400 do not, which I found puzzling when they brought out the HD line. The POD XTL, and X3L both had the VDI jack. The desktops never did, nor the Floor POD from the XTL era.

    I think they chose to do that to save money... and with the cost of the new JT variaxes, I think they thought that anyone who could afford a JTV could afford the nicer pod....
    keep in mind this is my opinion and in no way based on anything that was ever said to me...
