recording with usb and pc

hi everyone !

sorry for my english, i'm french ;-)

did someone tried and succeed to record all the inputs with the usb to pc connection and a laptop ?

there is no manual or explications again to do this.

i've installed the driver, connect the pc to the mixer, but in recording mode, impossible to do or activate the record. mixer says "usb to pc mode" or something like that

in my cubase, i can only see, record and listen the input 1 & 2, just a stereo signal

thank you

Fred

    Hi,

    yes, I tried successfully.

First: Install the driver an PC or Mac, download it from Line6 Website.

Second: In Cubase, choose Line6 ASIO Driver as Audio Interface.

But: I can't playback from Cubase to the Stagescape. Even when I place a Laptop Icon in my mix, it stays "unconnected" on channels 17 & 18 and there is no playback sound.

And the big issue: Recording quality is extremly bad. It's like a 4bit resolution. A vocal track can hardly be recognized as female or male...

Ticket at Line6 to this Issue is pending.

    Regards

    Ueli

    Hi,

is there any chance to "play back" all the tracks from the DAW (PC, Samplitute) to the Stagescape Mixer (like it works on the Presonus Mixer).

So i can "mix" all the tracks on the Stagescape? (inline Mixer)

Unfortunately no from your PC.  But you can play them back by re-connection whatever you made them on (SD card or USB drive) as files and play them that way.

        Hi dboomer,

You seem to be saying that it is possible to play all 16 recorded dry tracks simultaneously back through the mixer from either the SD card or a USB hard drive (whatever they were recorded on) for a post-production mixing.

If this is so, how can the new mix then be recorded?  Could it be recorded to a USB flash drive or to a computer?

        Thanks!

What I do is use the SD card, I import the 16 traks or less recorded on stagescape to my Daw and mix everything there! Don't know if that´s what you are asking for...cheers! So..I think if you do the oposite with the same sample rate and resolution you will be able to mix it in the stage scape!

As i understand the Recording and Playback from SD card or USB drive, you can either record or play.

So if you have recordet 16 tracks and play them, you only can mix them to hear it at the Analog outputs. It seems that there is no way to record the outputs to SD card or USB drive while playing.

But im not sure if you can record it with a computer connected over USB. Try to record the Chanel 19/20

hmmm... my m-audio interface has 8 outputs. if i recorded something with that m-audio card to my daw, maybe i could route the single tracks back to the outputs of the m-audio (1-8), connect them to the m20d and record them to the m20d's sd card. with killing all the effects and settings in the daw, the dry signals will now get to the m20d. sounds a bit complicated but...  GOT IT?!   :-D :-D :-D
