I'd like to record to my computer using my Pod XT Live, but having huge problems...

Hi,

I have a pod xt live and would like to record my guitar playing on my pc. I know that the pod xt live has no record function but there's gotta be a way using software such as Acid, Reaper, etc to do this. The Pod plugs into my usb and that is my in so there's gotta be a way to record and harness that input.

Does anyone know a way to record using only the pod xt live?

Here's what's happening

I plug my guitar into my pod and then the pod into my usb on my computer but as soon as i plug in to my usb, i loose all sound. As soon as I unplug the pod, i get sound back.

I'm using windows on 3 computers and still cant get any of this to work. It's such a *****. I install all the line 6 software, get all the money updates and still get no sound when i plug into my computer, or no guitar sound atleast. Is there an easy way to do this?

All I'd like to do is record to my windows pc using the effects from my pod xt live as an input. Can someone please help me? I've used this on multiple brand new computers so im guessing some people are having the same problems I'm having?

Thanks a ton!

J

    The PODxt becomes your soundcard.

You need to connect your speakers and/or headphones directly to the PODxt.

Also run the Line6 Monkey to make sure you have the current drivers/firmware.

In the Line6 audio-midi control panel there are option for what you sen to your DAW and re-amping.

Yes. Connect powered speakers (or amp) to the xt's analog outs.

Or headphones to the headphone out.

Alternatively if you have powered computer speakers that have an 1/8" stereo jack, you can use a stereo 1/8" to 1/4" adaptor and plug it into the headphone out.

When installing the software it should have put a shortcut on your desk top (for Windows).

Otherwise you can find it in Start>Programs>Line6

You can choose to send dry or wet to your DAW. You can also choose to "Re-Amp" tracks from your DAW.

If you have the Pod Farm plug-in you can send the dry while monitoring the wet and then add the plug-in, if you do not have the plug-in you can do a "hardware re-amp" with the xt.
